Contributing to U-spaces: In the #GENIUS project, 10 international partners have demonstrated how #5G technology combined with a UAS traffic management (#UTM) system helps integrate drones into shared airspace: ✳ With 5G, drones can be located to the centimeter and monitored in real time. ✳ 5G can be used in a UTM system to create operational volumes or corridors in the airspace where a drone can safely fly. This enables multiple drones to operate simultaneously. ✳ Using the 5G-connected UTM, drone operations can be safely interrupted and the airspace can be closed temporarily, such as when a police helicopter needs to operate in the area. For the project, HHLA Sky contributed its UTM technology for UAS traffic management. In the video, partners explain the project's results and the potentials of drones operating #BVLOS. Thanks for this successful partnership between public and private stakeholders to the project coordinator Syddansk Universitet - University of Southern Denmark as well as DTU - Technical University of Denmark, TDC NET, Ericsson, MECK Consult, Science Ventures Denmark, AirPlate, Naviair. Was a pleasure! In the video: statements by Lilly Wen, Kjeld Jensen, Sebastian Törsleff on behalf of all the committed GENIUS project partners
