Yesterday, at the 2024 Design Awards in Copenhagen, the Thorvald series by Space Copenhagen was awarded Outdoor Furniture of the Year! Drawing inspiration from the historic Thorvaldsens Museum, the collection seamlessly blends modern functionality with refined silhouettes. Designed to bring an elevated sense of sophistication to outdoor spaces, the Thorvald collection pays homage to both classic and contemporary aesthetics. A big thank you to Bo Bedre, Boligmagasinet and Scandinavian Living for this recognition, and to Space Copenhagen for their continued success and ongoing collaboration! We are excited to announce that five unique benches from our Studies of a Bench exhibition are now available through an online auction in partnership with Bruun Rasmussen Auctioneers A/S. The proceeds from each sale will be donated to support charities of each designer's choosing. Studies of a Bench is the second chapter in a series of hybrid art-design exhibitions that deconstruct archetypal forms. Bringing together five visionary designers and studios from around the world, each one sought to reimagine the bench through an innovative blend of materiality and form. The benches can be viewed online or in person at Bruun Rasmussen Kunstauktioner in Lyngby. Online bidding will be open until 18:00 on November 12th at https://lnkd.in/dDqqeAsu

We are thrilled to share that we are now B Corp Certified, joining a movement that puts the wellbeing of people and respect for the planet at the forefront. The B Corp standards cover the treatment of our employees, relationships to the community we work and create in, our partners and customers, as well as the way our supply chain affects the natural environment. An assessment and consequent audit of these factors lead to us officially becoming certified with a score of 88.2 points. Pursuing this milestone over the past four years has served as strong motivation for our team, spreading an eagerness to challenge the way we work. In the process, we created a more empowered culture where our environmental and social impact gained a permanent spot in every conversation. This commitment is deeply woven into our ongoing work towards our Impact Goals as we pursue re-certification every three years. In the prevailing spirit of London Design Festival, &Tradition took over the window display of twentytwentyone esteemed Upper Street store in London. Showcasing pieces from both the RFH and Daystak Collections by Robin Day, alongside prints by his wife, textile designer Lucienne Day, we were thrilled to pay homage to two of Britain’s most distinguished designers in the very city they called home. Yesterday, at the Royal Festival Hall on London's South Bank, we were honoured to host a talk dedicated to Robin Day, delving into the history behind an iconic series of designs from 1951 that brought the British designer international acclaim. Held at the same renowned waterfront landmark for which one of Day's most notable collections was originally created, we invited our London community to explore the designer's artistic vision and the enduring relevance of his work. Moderated by Johanna Agerman Ross, Chief Curator at the Design Museum London, the talk explored the cultural significance of Day's designs, as well as those of his wife, textile designer Lucienne Day. Through an open dialogue with Paula Day, Els Van Hoorebeeck, Creative and Brand Director at &Tradition; and writer and editor Debika Ray, we discussed the contemporary revival of Day's designs and their relevance to a modern audience. A unique evening gaining insight into a truly remarkable designer, we'd like to thank everyone who joined us and made the event so memorable!

Today we launch our first Impact Report, chronicling our past, present and future initiatives that are aimed at considering the impact we have on both people and the planet.   With over a decade of work behind us, our Impact Report is not only a place to reflect on our achievements to date, but a framework from which we can present our insights on where the key points of impact in our brand lie. We outline our work with circular design and certifications, as well as our consideration for materials, carbon footprint, and our community. We are also excited to present our Impact Goals – milestones we have set out to achieve that will guide the next steps in our longstanding dedication to the people and the planet at the core. Driven by a commitment to consider the social and environmental implications of our actions, we seek to share both the challenges we encounter and the insights we gain along the way.
