    Our annual results are here ✨ In 2023-24, our performance was impacted by challenging conditions in the global fashion market. Despite this, we continued to invest in transforming our business to adapt to new demands. Turning to this year’s financial results, our bottom-line profitability improved despite pressure on top-line revenue.     The world of finance can seem complicated and scary – especially for those of us that don’t know it 🧐 Luckily, we have great colleagues to take our hand and show us their line of work, providing us with an insight into the many important functions there is to explore. Having been a Finance Specialist at BESTSELLER for well over ten years, Dorte Mikkelsen knows a thing or two about her field. She’s travelled the world in efforts to support our markets in their use of the financial system ‘SAP’ and mastered the ever-changing skills of successfully training colleagues to ensure smooth implementations of new financial business models. “A few years ago, we started implementing a new version of ‘SAP’. A change like that requires lots of testing and training, and it’s an important task for me to ensure that I support my colleagues in the best way possible to take on these new challenges.” We asked Dorte to share her favourite part about working in Finance in BESTSELLER: “I like the many different tasks that lies with us – I love balancing many things at once and getting the chance to connect with colleagues from many different markets and countries. I’m very grateful for my responsibility and freedom - elements we value highly in Finance."     For Vero Moda’s recent collaboration, the brand once again teamed up with Kræftens Bekæmpelse (The Danish Cancer Society) to contribute to the 'Støt Brysterne' campaign – an annual awareness campaign in support of breast cancer research.  This time, the team designed and produced a gratitude journal with 100% of the proceeds going directly to breast cancer research. The brand is also committing to donate a minimum of DKK 125,000.  Research shows that reflecting on what we are grateful for can have positive effects on mental health and well-being. That’s why the team opted for a gratitude journal to support the cause: "Being a partner in the 'Støt Brysterne' campaign allows us to support a cause that affects so many lives.     How can the textile industry collaborate to boost the use of recycled materials? This was the central question at a recent meeting hosted by BESTSELLER at our Aarhus office, where we brought together the Recycled Textile Fibers working group, led by the Lifestyle & Design Cluster. With a goal for 40% of all clothing sold in Denmark to contain recycled materials by 2030, collaboration has never been more important. As demand for circular products rises and upcoming legislation places more responsibility on manufacturers, sharing knowledge and working together across the supply chain is vital. The voluntary group heard presentations from BESTSELLER and Syre who highlighted advancements in recycled polyester, and discussions emphasised the importance of cooperation between brands and suppliers.     A new take on ‘hygge’ 🎉 BESTSELLER Austria recently kicked off the new financial year with its annual summer party. This year, the event was inspired by the Danish word ‘hygge’ – a term that translates into a warm, cosy, and inviting atmosphere. Set at the vineyards on the outskirts of Vienna, the team had created a local interpretation of the term by adding classical Viennese music and traditional dishes into the mix. The evening ended on a high note with a busy dance floor and an award show to celebrate the outstanding achievements of the year.     Six months ago, we invested in a sustainability initiative in Africa to improve water and education infrastructure for organic cotton farming communities. Now, over 4,000 people in two towns in Benin, now have better access to clean water and education. We worked with the Cotton made in Africa (CmiA) Community Cooperation Programme, an initiative of the Aid by Trade Foundation, to directly improve the wellbeing of people farming CmiA Organic cotton for our products. Through the programme, we supported the building of school classrooms, providing seating, and drilling of two boreholes for clean water. We also supported hygiene training to ensure the benefits continue long-term. This project directly supports the CmiA Organic farmers who produce the organic cotton used in ONLY’s jeans programmes, helping improve traceability and livelihoods. #OrganicCotton #CottonMadeInAfrica #CleanWater #ThisIsBESTSELLER
