Today, Cadeler has signed firm contracts with ScottishPower Renewables for the transportation and installation of the foundations as well as 64 x 15MW offshore wind turbine generators (WTGs) for the East Anglia TWO offshore wind farm in the UK. The aggregate value of these contracts to Cadeler is projected to fall within the range of EUR 360 – 382 million. The offshore works are set to commence in 2027. The project will see the use of one of Cadeler’s A-class newbuild vessels, together with an O-class vessel from the existing fleet. Cadeler’s partnership with ScottishPower Renewables on East Anglia TWO, announced today, reflects the execution of firm contracts for a portion of the work contemplated by a reservation agreement Cadeler disclosed in May 2024. Mikkel Gleerup, CEO of Cadeler, says: “This project underlines that our strategic decisions are in sync with our customers’ needs and the demands that we see in the market. With our six newbuilds on their way, Cadeler will deliver even greater flexibility and offer still improved efficiency for our clients, with solutions for even more complex projects. The East Anglia TWO project reinforces Cadeler’s strong position as a full-service T&I provider in the foundations space and our pivotal role in driving the transition to renewable offshore wind energy.” Charlie Jordan, ScottishPower Renewables CEO, says: “Following our recent auction success, we’ve been moving with pace and purpose to confirm the supply chain for East Anglia TWO, so it’s great to have Cadeler on board supporting this vital clean energy project, which will power almost one million homes with green electricity. East Anglia is the heart of our offshore wind operations in the UK and a vitally important region for us with one operational wind farm, another under construction and the supply chain now being confirmed for our third, enabling us to get out there and deliver a cleaner, greener and better future, quicker.” Read the full press release here:

Wind Peak has arrived in Las Palmas! It’s been 62 days since our newbuild Cadeler wind installation vessel left the shipyard in Quidong and crossed the ocean for the very first time. Since then, more than 12,000 nautical miles have been passed with stops in Singapore, Cape Town, and now Las Palmas. Wind Peak will soon be heading towards Rotterdam, where the first client mobilization will commence. She is the first of seven newbuild wind installation vessels to join the Cadeler fleet in the coming years, and she has already been signed for contracts years ahead. We are thankful to our Masters and Crew onboard Wind Peak for leading us through this successful first journey. The first of many!

In Q1 2025, we will take delivery of Wind Maker. This will be the second of seven newbuild Wind Installation Vessels contracted for Cadeler between 2024-2026. The construction process is well under way and we have been through a successful Keel Laying and Launching. As always, we are working with the highest standards when it comes to working conditions, quality, and safety. Wind Maker is engineered to operate in the harshest weather conditions and at some of the most challenging offshore wind installation sites worldwide. The impressive high-capacity 2,600t main crane will allow the safe installation and maintenance of the heaviest foundations and wind turbine components. Wind Maker is already contracted to begin installation work after its delivery, and we look forward to seeing our impressive jack-up vessel display her true potential. Thanks to our great partners at Hanwha Ocean, ABB, HD Hyundai Heavy Industries Naval Business Unit, Wärtsilä, Huisman, KONGSBERG, GustoMSC, and all the other suppliers supporting us in the construction process.

Empowering the Green Horizon! We are excited to announce the integration of Industeel's Xcarb®'s reduced-carbon footprint steel in the production of the heavy plates for our newbuild Cadeler WTIV legs. By partnering with Industeel, Yantai Tiezhongbao Steel Processing Co., Ltd. and Cosco Shipping Heavy Industry Co., Ltd., our newbuild Wind Apex will be using certified recycled and sustainably produced steel racks. This is a key step in our journey of decarbonizing offshore infrastructure and working together to ensure the future of renewable energy is built on sustainable foundations. #ReducedCarbonSteel #Cadeler #Cosco #YantaiTiezhongbao #Industeel
Winds of change! Sustainability and circularity: using wind power to make wind turbine installation vessels for future offshore wind parks. Industeel was proud to participate in the steel cutting ceremony for the wind turbine installation vessel (WTIV), “Wind Apex”, organized by Yantai Tiezhongbao Steel Processing Co Ltd in Shandong Province, People’s Republic of China. This WTIV will be the first built using steel racks made from Industeel’s XCarb® recycled and renewably produced heavy plates in 210mm thickness, manufactured at Industeel France’s heavy plate mill in Chateauneuf. Made with high levels of recycled scrap and using Guarantees of Origin for wind-generated electricity, the use of the electric arc furnace guarantees a significant carbon footprint reduction compared with conventional blast furnace steelmaking. This event was also the occasion for all four parties to cement their commitment to sustainability by engaging in further carbon footprint reduction across the whole chain, so, that Cadeler’s wind turbine installation vessels, essential for the development of major offshore wind farms, can have the lowest carbon footprint possible.
