We recently completed internal inspections on 10 turbines in the Netherlands. During these inspections, our technicians conduct a thorough close-up assessment and then deploy special inspection robots to areas humans can't reach. At Clobotics Wind Services, we have various robotic systems ready for deployment, including some that are down to only 80mm for reaching the very far tip end of the blade. Internal inspections are key to identifying hidden structural issues, such as laminate cracks before they become problematic. We have combined our global expertise in onshore and offshore drone operations with our leading repair experience and cutting-edge software development to create our repair robot, Sparrow. This is how it works: ➡️ Drone Delivery: The Sparrow repair robot is transported to the blade using a heavy-lift drone, controlled from a ground station from the vessel deck (offshore) or ground (onshore) ➡️ Repair Process:: Upon landing and locking in position, Sparrow executes repairs in three steps. 1) Sanding, 2) cleaning/filling, 3) LEP application. ➡️ Tool Changes: Tool changes are managed during the repair process for optimal performance. ➡️ Retrieval: After completing repairs, Sparrow is retrieved from the blade by the heavy-lift drone.
