Copenhagen Life Science is a collaboration between the public sector, private life science companies and universities in Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark – and the capital of life science. Through this innovative partnership we develop new solutions within the health area in order to secure better health for everyone as well as strengthening Danish companies, employment and export. But our ambitions go further than that: As a frontrunner within public-private health partnerships our true goal is to inspire others, globally, to use our model for improving their own health system, providing better and more equal health all over the World. Lighthouse Life Science Healthy Weight is an initiative from the Danish Minister for Industry, Business and Financial Affairs, which aims to ensure growth and welfare in the wake of COVID-19. The partnership behind Lighthouse consists of representatives from, among others, established companies, start-ups, funds, pension companies, regions and municipalities. The partnership model runs until 2030, and the government has initially allocated 82 million DKK to Lighthouse’s work. Further is the co-financing from private actors in the partnership and the EU Regional & Social Fund. On Wednesday, Ambassador Leventhal visited Nordic Life Science Days at the Bella Center. This leading life science event for the Nordic region attracts thousands of professionals each year and offered a great window into incredible innovation here in Denmark and across the region. The BII - the BioInnovation Institute - and the Copenhagen Life Science pavilion proved to be highlights of the visit as was a stop at the 'Made in Alabama - Alabama Department of Commerce' booth where the Ambassador engaged with the delegation from Alabama led by Alabama’s Secretary of Commerce, Greg Canfield. #NLSDays was launched ten years ago by SwedenBIO and has once again proven to be an outstanding platform for networking and fostering business partnerships #LifeSciences #NordicInnovation #GlobalPartnership

We are delighted to announce that our project, "Copenhagen Life Science: Positioning Copenhagen as the World’s Leading Life Science Hub", run in collaboration with Copenhagen Convention Bureau Wonderful Copenhagen Copenhagen Capacity and Sunrise just has been distinguished as a Highly Commended entry for Best Communication Strategy in Economic Development at the City Nation Place Awards 2023! Together we developed Copenhagen Life Science, a global brand that could elevate international awareness of Copenhagen’s thriving life science scene and attract international talents, companies, and conventions. In the project we managed to gather Denmark’s leading life science companies, public foundations, municipalities, universities and hospitals in working together to position Copenhagen as the world capital of life and science. Besides brand building and forming partnerships, the project consisted of a combination of digital campaigns and outreach and physical events to create awareness and elevate the perception of Copenhagen as the world’s life science hub - the capital of life and science.
