𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐈𝐧𝐟𝐥𝐚𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐨-𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞 🫀🔍 Last week, we had the pleasure of hosting this year's Basic Cardiometabolic Research PhD Course, focusing on Inflammation in Cardio-metabolic Disease, in collaboration with the Danish Cardiovascular Academy (DCA). This course focused on building important bridges between basic and clinical sciences, between cardiology and metabolism research, and this year, with a focus on inflammation, for very early stage PhD students, offering an entry point into the broad field of cardiometabolism, and between #DDEA and #DCA, strengthening collaboration 🤝 Over several days, PhD students explored the molecular mechanisms underlying diabetes, endocrine, and cardiovascular diseases, with inflammation as a central theme. Through lectures, interactive sessions, and networking with senior scientists, attendees gained a strong foundation in metabolism, cardiovascular function, and pathophysiology. The course prepared the attending early-career researchers for future interdisciplinary challenges 💡 We are proud to play a role in equipping the next generation of researchers with knowledge and networks 🌟 #DDEA #cardiometabolicresearch #phdcourse #inflammation #scientificcollaboration

  • RESEARCHING FOR A BETTER FUTURE 👀🔍🫀📹 As part of her PhD research, DCAcademy Grant Recipient, Tanita Drejer Jeppesen, is researching better treatment opportunities for the future. So far, trials on pig hearts are proving to be a promising beginning for new treatments. But tomorrow’s solutions are not created out of thin air. It has been a year since this video was recorded, and one of the pigs, Inger Margrethe, is soon done with observation after having lived with her new aortaring for two months 🐷⭕ This is an important step in ensuring that the treatment is completely safe, and it can often take years before treatments make it this far. If it is eventually approved, it could make a big difference for cardiovascular treatment in the future ✨ A round of applause for our dedicated researchers who work every day to save and improve the lives of heart patients.
