🌊🌿 To comply with reporting standards such as the recently updated GRI 101: Biodiversity 2024, businesses are required to disclose biodiversity changes in ecosystems that are affected or potentially affected by their activities. In this blog post, DHI's environmental scientist Ole Brodnicke, Ph.D. shares how DHI's new Environmental DNA (eDNA) solution can solve reporting challenges and help businesses better understand, track and monitor their biodiversity status. This is one of the solutions DHI offers in biodiversity management. Tap on link in the comments 👇🏻👇🏻 UN Biodiversity #COP16Colombia #PeaceWithNature #biodiversity #GRI101 #eDNA

🌍 DHI’s Verena Schrameyer, PhD and Lars O Mortensen, Ph.D. are now at UN Biodiversity #COP16 as part of Denmark’s delegation. Delegates from around the world have gathered in Cali, Colombia to address the urgent challenges of biodiversity conservation and restoration, with a focus on new technologies and analytical approaches.   DHI’s innovative solutions can play a crucial role in this global effort. We help qualify investments in nature-positive initiatives, and some of our work include monitoring marine life for The Fehmarnbelt Project and using remote sensing technology to support conservation efforts as part of the UNDP Ocean Innovation Challenge in Malaysia. Our tools for monitoring ecosystems and assessing biodiversity targets are designed to support the goals set for safeguarding our planet's biodiversity. Biodiversity is the heartbeat of our planet. Conserving biodiversity is essential for healthy ecosystems, food security and climate regulation—all of which support human and environmental health. In the EU, it is becoming mandatory for businesses to report and assess their impact on biodiversity, with many also choosing to do so voluntarily. DHI supports your biodiversity initiatives with comprehensive solutions for monitoring, analysing, reporting, enhancing and restoring marine biodiversity. We work with various industries, including shipping, ports, marine and offshore wind, to provide structured guidance that helps address biodiversity concerns while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. If you're at the start of your biodiversity journey, our approach involves mapping out the entire process and guiding you on progressively advancing your biodiversity management efforts. 𝐏𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 The world needs a different approach to how we live in peace with nature. At the UN Biodiversity Conference #COP16, which opens next week, nations, organisations and businesses will convene in Cali, Colombia for what has been described as ‘the first implementation COP’. Policymakers will work on defining plans for the future under the heading ‘Peace with nature’, more specifically on how to contribute to the implementation of the Global Biodiversity Framework. Yet, the lack of standardised biodiversity metrics presents a challenge in monitoring, assessing and mitigating biodiversity loss for governments, organisations and businesses. DHI has developed comprehensive and science-based methodologies that contribute to safeguarding biodiversity and promoting sustainable ecosystem management on a global scale. Our colleagues Verena Schrameyer, PhD and Lars O Mortensen, Ph.D. will be part of Denmark’s delegation at COP16 and look forward to contributing with their knowledge and experience in solutions that can help with the full cycle of biodiversity challenges from monitoring to ecosystem restoration. Feel free to reach out to them if you will also be present at COP16 and want to know more. #COP16Colombia #PeaceWithNature #biodiversity #ecosystem

Curious about a day in the life of a financial controller? Get to know Malin Alm from DHI’s Sweden office in today's #DHIPeople Q&A! 𝑸: 𝑯𝒊 𝑴𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒏, 𝒑𝒍𝒆𝒂𝒔𝒆 𝒊𝒏𝒕𝒓𝒐𝒅𝒖𝒄𝒆 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒔𝒆𝒍𝒇! Hello, I'm Malin and I am a finance controller at DHI Sweden. We have four offices in Sweden, and you can find me at our head office in Gothenburg. Our other offices are in Stockholm, Malmö and Växjö. I live in Gothenburg, just a 30-minute walk from the office. I am married and have two adult children, Erik (27) and Sofia (25). I like to spend the holidays with family and friends at our summer house on Öland, on the east coast.    𝑸: 𝑾𝒉𝒆𝒏 𝒅𝒊𝒅 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒋𝒐𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑫𝑯𝑰 𝒇𝒂𝒎𝒊𝒍𝒚 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒉𝒐𝒘 𝒅𝒊𝒅 𝒊𝒕 𝒉𝒂𝒑𝒑𝒆𝒏? I joined DHI in September 2005. I had been working within the consulting industry before and found it interesting and enjoyed it very much. I applied to DHI with the hope of developing and to contribute to the business.   𝑸: 𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒕'𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒃𝒆𝒔𝒕 𝒑𝒂𝒓𝒕 𝒐𝒇 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒌𝒅𝒂𝒚? The best part of my workday is whenever I get to work with colleagues, both from our local team and from across offices. It´s very inspiring and challenging to work across and build relationships and connecting with other colleagues. To meet and collaborate online requires time for closer dialogue, ask questions, be curious and interested in building relationships and trust. It´s more efficient to meet, face-to-face. It´s always a pleasure to work closely with colleagues within the finance team – to collaborate by sharing knowledge and to be able to provide good service and support to our business.   𝑸: 𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒕’𝒔 𝒔𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒂𝒃𝒐𝒖𝒕 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒑𝒆𝒐𝒑𝒍𝒆 𝒘𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝒃𝒆 𝒔𝒖𝒓𝒑𝒓𝒊𝒔𝒆𝒅 𝒕𝒐 𝒌𝒏𝒐𝒘 𝒂𝒃𝒐𝒖𝒕? I have always enjoyed cooking and reading recipes and I am constantly looking for new inspiration.   𝑸: 𝑪𝒐𝒎𝒑𝒍𝒆𝒕𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒔𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆: ‘𝑰𝒇 𝑰 𝒘𝒆𝒓𝒆𝒏’𝒕 𝒂 𝑭𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒊𝒂𝒍 𝑪𝒐𝒏𝒕𝒓𝒐𝒍𝒍𝒆𝒓, 𝑰 𝒘𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒃𝒂𝒃𝒍𝒚 𝒃𝒆 …’  … in a restaurant kitchen somewhere and cooking something tasty. Bon Appetit! ---------------------- Want to know us? Take a peek into why we love doing what we do through our #DHIPeople stories, where we introduce and celebrate colleagues from all over the world. 👉🏻https://lnkd.in/gijTkMQa
