Eco-Schools programme launch in Armenia 🌐 📍 With the generous support from Synopsys Inc for Good, FEE’s member organisation in Armenia, Innovative Solutions for Sustainable Development of Communities NGO (ISSD), recently launched the Eco-Schools programme in Armenia. 🌱 🤝 This pilot project will engage 50 schools in Yerevan and Armavir, empowering students and teachers to foster sustainable communities and environmental awareness. This project will also contribute to the #GreeningEducationPartnership (GEP)’s goal of green accreditation for 50% of schools worldwide by 2030. 🌐 FEE at #EducationDay at #COP16Cali, Colombia Foundation for Environmental Education (#FEE) had the pleasure of joining an important Education Day event at the 16th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on #Biodiversity (#COP16). During this session our Senior Director of Education, Pramod Kumar Sharma, provided some key insights into how FEE sees meaningful #biodiversityaction and offered recommendations. ✅ For lasting #biodiversityaction, #FEE believes it’s time to prioritise three key approaches: 1️⃣ Shift focus from short-term projects to sustained programmes. Through the #GreeningEducationPartnership (#GEP), schools can align and strengthen each other’s efforts for collective impact. 2️⃣ Embrace #collaboration over competition. ✨ Happy UN Day! ✨     At the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE), we are proud to align our work with many of the UN’s critical missions, from environmental protection to quality education.     📚 As a co-lead of #GreeningEducationPartnership (#GEP) Pillar 1: #GreeningSchools and an active member of the GEP Advisory Board, FEE helps shape the future of #QualityClimateEducation globally. FEE also contributes to GEP Pillar 4, focusing on amplifying youth voices and empowering young reporters to advocate for climate action and sustainability, through the Young Reporters for the Environment Alumni (#YRE) programme.    🌱 Our Learning about Ecosystems and Forests (#LEAF) programme supports the UN UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration, promoting hands-on learning about ecosystems and grassroots restoration.    🌐 Our annual #GlobalActionDays unite participants from FEE’s key programmes like #Eco-Schools, #LEAF, and #YRE to raise awareness and showcase local actions that contribute to global sustainability goals. The 2025 theme, #EcosystemRestoration, directly aligns with the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration, highlighting the power of community-driven efforts to achieve broader objectives.      💡   The online #UNatYourDoorstep live session that our #YRE students took part in yesterday connected the UN to young changemakers around the world and empowered our young leaders to take an active role in leading and promoting discussions on youth empowerment.       🏫 Through UNESCO - ASPnet Schools, students worldwide engage with sustainability and global citizenship, echoing our Eco-Schools goals.       🎓 Our recent speaker role in a UNESCO Masterclass emphasised climate education and the leadership roles of teachers and youth, which we also support through the #FEEEducationAwards.       🏖️ The Blue Flag International programme, is setting sustainability standards in coastal tourism, contributing to the UN’s goals for responsible tourism, and helping to protect over 5,000 beaches and marinas globally. 📣 We are excited to announce that we have now officially kickstarted the third year of the #LitterLessCampaign under the #YoungReportersfortheEnvironment (YRE) programme within UNESCO’s Associated Schools Network. The launch event brought together passionate students, teachers from across 18 countries and 60 schools. The teachers and students together will raise awareness of critical environmental issues and provide solutions. They will then tell the stories of their discoveries through article writing, videography, photography, or podcasting and involve their communities. 🌐 Through our collaboration with #UNESCO, students will be encouraged to develop their inner vision for the environment, interact and learn with fellow students from different cultures and countries. We will use this opportunity to help them grow into thoughtful, responsible leaders who take positive action to improve themselves, their communities and the environment. 💡 Fun Fact: When asked how many students they hoped to inspire through their engagement, participating students put the bar up high! —From thousands to entire generations!
