Haarslev gets good validation news from SBTi ✅ On 17 October 2024, Haarslev Industries received official notification that the Science Based Targets initiative has validated that the near-term greenhouse gas emissions reductions targets that Haarslev submitted comply with the organisation’s planned trajectory to limiting global warming to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels. Science-based targets provide companies with clearly-defined paths that help them reduce their planet-harming greenhouse gas emissions in accordance with the goals laid down in the 2021 Paris Agreement. Concrete, actionable targets agreed by independent scientific consensus are an important backbone for effective climate protection action. Companies undergoing the target validation process (currently amounting to more than 6,000 businesses worldwide) benefit from detailed feedback and support from the SBTi’s technical experts. This helps Haarslev manoeuvre towards a clear, better-informed and better-documented role in responsible business operations in the future. Haarslev commits to reducing the Group’s absolute scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 54.6% in 2033, from a 2023 base year and commits to increasing active annual sourcing of renewable electricity from 68.0% in 2023 to 96.0% by 2029. Haarslev has also set ambitious targets to engage suppliers and customers in reducing greenhouse gas emissions across the entire supply chain. This SBTi validation is big news, and a major step forward in Haarslev Industries’ active implementation of a strong, credible ESG reporting framework that will make a significant difference to monitoring and documenting how Haarslev’s own operations impact the society around us – and on how we can extend these requirements and capabilities to Haarslev suppliers and customers in the coming years. Haarslev acknowledges that setting targets is only the first step toward achieving real change. Now it is time to follow through and meet those targets.

What is it like working as a Student Assistant at Haarslev? 🤔 At our headquarters in Sonderso, we have the privilege of employing talented student assistants. Two of these student assistants are Kamilla and Caroline. Kamilla Rasmussen, who works in Procurement, is pursuing a master’s degree in cand.merc in Management and Leadership at the University of Southern Denmark. When asked about her employment, Kamilla says: "It is highly engaging and educational, both in terms of practical skills and theoretical knowledge. I have the opportunity to apply what I learn in my studies to a practical setting. I receive guidance while also being trusted with the responsibility to initiate projects myself." Our student assistant in HR, Caroline Ris, is pursuing a Master’s degree in cand.negot Human Recourse Management at the University of Southern Denmark. Caroline agrees with Kamilla and adds: “My new colleagues have managed to create a learning-friendly environment where someone new to the industry, such as myself, feel welcomed. As a student assistant, you’re treated as an equal to any other employee, which truly makes you feel valued and as a part of the team.. I am looking forward to getting even more hands-on experience in all aspects of HR here at Haarslev”.
