"Our main focus is tech and life science" Meet Innovation Centre Denmark - Munich's new Executive Director Klaus Werner. "I’m Klaus and I’m the new Executive Director for Innovation Centre Denmark, Munich. In addition to that, I’m Head of Mission for the Consulate General in Munich covering Bayern and Baden-Wurttemberg in Germany. I have been with the Danish MFA since 2006. Before I came to Munich I was Deputy Director for Invest in Denmark. Previously, I’ve been posted to Brussels and Washington. At the mission in Munich, we try to combine our strengths across the various business areas we are working in: #innovation, trade, and investments. Our main focus is tech and life science. We are trying to adapt Danish Government strategies to our local context, e.g. #quantum technologies and upcoming strategies on #space and #lifescience. In the months to come, we’ll aim at expanding our network and competences within the target sectors we are working with and to explore new sub sectors in space and dual use”. A warm welcome to our new Executive Director Caroline Arends at Innovation Centre Denmark Tel Aviv 🤝 🎉
Nyt job i Tel Aviv - New job in Tel Aviv - תפקיד חדש בתל אביב I am taking up a position as Executive Director at Innovation Centre Denmark Tel Aviv in Israel. Innovation Centre Denmark (ICDK) is a partnership between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark and Ministry of Higher Education and Science to strengthen innovation, research, entrepreneurship, and economic growth in Denmark. ICDK in Tel Aviv is one of seven innovation centres that Denmark has located in Bangalore, Boston, Munich, Seoul, Shanghai, Silicon Valley, and Tel Aviv. All innovation regions, chosen for their relevance for Danish businesses, researchers, and institutions of higher education. By investing in innovation and exploring new opportunities for partnerships in such fields as quantum technology, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, health, and sustainability - just to mention a few - Denmark can secure a strong position in the global economy. Innovation is an important key to Denmark's continued economic growth and development. I am very excited to become part of Denmark's economic diplomacy and international efforts - and to be stationed with the Danish foreign service in Israel. There are excellent opportunities to promote Danish research, innovation, and competitiveness through collaboration with Israeli innovation ecosystems, institutions of higher education and research, startups, and companies. I am completing my final tasks at DTU, participating in onboarding at both ministries, and meeting with relevant Danish stakeholders before I fly to Tel Aviv in a few weeks. It is a city and a country which I know well and can navigate. I am very much looking forward to the many new activities and projects – and to being close to family. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me if you want to know more about the Innovation Centre Denmark (ICDK) initiatives.
