The law industry faces challenges, and it's time to act 🚨 The Danish law industry is undergoing major changes, and it’s crucial for us to pay attention. Major firms like Kromann Reumert have already initiated projects to restructure traditional metrics for measuring success and employee performance. This week, we learned that Horten is also taking steps in this direction. In recent years, the consulting sector has been fiercely competitive when it comes to attracting talent, influencing the standards and expectations for firms. This sentiment is echoed by Christian Gregersen, managing partner at Horten: "Højtuddannede medarbejdere ønsker ikke en kultur, hvor de bliver målt og vejet ud fra tal i et excel-ark." (Highly educated employees do not want a culture where they are measured and weighed based on numbers in an Excel sheet.) Christian Gregersen calls the focus on billable hours "a major issue in the industry" and leads a working group formed by Danske Advokater. The group aims to address a concerning trend: the industry initially attracts young talents but struggles to retain them over time.
