Our goal is simple, technology should serve humanity and the common good. Last week, we had the pleasure of welcoming Thorkild Kristiansen and his team from the Office of Business-Oriented Digitalization, part of the Danish Ministry of Digital Government (Digitaliserings- og Ligestillingsministeriet), at our headquarters in Brøndby. We had a good conversation about the implementation of the EU’s AI Act and other digital regulations. We also showcased our XProtect software in action at the HQ Experience Center, offering a glimpse into the powerful possibilities of data-driven video technology. Many security professionals are excited about the prospect of monitoring footage and alarms from our XProtect VMS and Kite VSaaS on the same screen. This can be a great solution when two or more of the following circumstances apply to a security project: • It's impractical to have direct cable or wireless connection to the same local area network (LAN) as your VMS. • It’s not feasible to have a server at each remote site. • There's sufficient broadband coverage to support direct transmission VSaaS. • You don’t need the same features for the remote sites as for the central site. As vehicle and cargo thefts rose and unresolved traffic accidents grew to worrying levels in the State of Tlaxcala, Mexico, authorities decided to install more video cameras to combat these issues. The Executive Commission of the State Public Security System for Tlaxcala, Mexico, deployed a significant upgrade and expansion of their video system using open-platform, data-driven video technology. This extensive upgrade required highly scalable video management software (VMS) to integrate over 800 new cameras from various manufacturers while keeping the existing system fully operational and allowing for future expansion. Following the deployment, officials saw a 93% reduction in cargo thefts and a 22.5% decrease in vehicle thefts.
