Friday, I had the privilege of visiting robotics companies in Odense together with the city council’s CEO, Eik Møller. It was a great pleasure to give him a glimpse of the city’s robotics industry.🤝 We started our day together with Christina Grigoriou Dalsgaard and Susan Nørgaard at KOBOTS. 🏗️ Their work at the intersection of robotics and construction is a testament to how technology can revolutionise traditional industries. At Inrotech A/S, Henrik Lenskjold shared insights into their intelligent welding robots.🔧 Their solution enables many industries to overcome labour shortages and deliver efficiencies. Next, Troels Oliver Vilms Pedersen from Odense Robotics gave us a glimpse into Odense Robotics StartUp Fund and incubator at Danish Technological Institute together with BlinkTroll Robotics, AutoShape, O-Robotics and Dropla Tech ApS .🚀 It’s always inspiring to see how startups are shaping the future with bold ideas and cutting-edge solutions. Thanks to Øystein Hatlestad Hovland, Kenneth Skorpen, Sylvester Milé, Anders Noel Thomsen and V'yacheslav Shvaydak, Ph.D. and their teams for great presentations and conversations. We had also a great conversation with Henrik Jacobsen and Kristian Skaarup from Robot Technology – Danish Technological Institute and got a good introduction to the Institutes support of the Danish robotics ecosystem. Then we visited Clionadh Martin at coalescent mobile robotics. 🛒 The company develops autonomous mobile robots that automate in-store transportation tasks within the retail industry, enhancing processes such as restocking and click and collect. We wrapped up the day with Erik Mønster and Søren Juul Jørgensen at Smooth Robotics ApS, Graphic Robotics & Nord Modules A/S. 🤝 Their collaborative approach to technology is delivering valuable solutions for welding, internal transport and much more. What a great day! O-Robotics develops robot that removes weeds 🤖 Alf Olsen is the visionary behind the startup O-Robotics. He is developing an autonomous mobile robot sweeper designed to revolutionize urban maintenance. The mobile robot will remove dirt, algae, moss, rubbish, leaves, snow and even ice. It will operate 24/7 without user intervention. And best of all: it will be good for the environment. 🌍💚 O-Robotics has recently been selected by Odense Robotics StartUp Fund for a place in the incubator at Teknologisk Institut. Initially, the robot will showcase its abilities in amusement parks, targeting the commercial sector, where vast paved areas represent a huge untapped global market. Startuppen O-Robotics sparer en halv million i udvikling 💰 - og flere kan gå i deres fodspor. I et MADE projekt har startuppen fået hjælp af konsulenthuset RD8 til digitalt at analysere deres nyudviklede fliserenserrobot 🤖 De har fået svar på mange spørgsmål om, hvordan vinkler, materialer m.m. kan gå godt i spænd med produktionsmetoder: ”Det er ret vigtigt, for ellers kan man stå med en superfin prototype og pludselig opdage, den slet ikke kan produceres i tusindvis. Det vil betyde, man skal starte forfra i sit design,” siger stifter af O-Robotics, Alf Olsen og tilføjer, at projektet har sparet dem både tid og penge: “Vi sparer en eller to design-iterationer, så det svarer nok til 500.000 kr.” Med projektet er startuppen blevet klar til at afprøve en ny prototype hos kunder i 2025. Dertil kommer, at RD8 med projektet har fået vigtigt input til at videreudvikle deres software, så det lettere kan bruges af virksomheder, som er i en tidlig fase af produktmodenhed. Samtidig har konsulenthuset også fået input til at udvikle softwaren, så også brugere, der ikke er specialister på området, kan bruge det til at finde de lavthængende frugter ift. bl.a. Design For Manufacturing (DFM). Både RD8 og O-Robotics er en del af startupprogrammet Future Manufacturers hhv. som startup og "community allies". Programmet hjælper startups fra prototype til produktion og et samarbejde mellem MADE, DI Produktion og Industriens Fond.
