Software that makes it easy to be a structural engineer.
Om os
PolyStruc develops user-friendly software to help structural engineers solve problems. We are striving to create a series of software with high precision and easy to use interface, as well as one click pdf documentation for validation. These features are highly appreciated in countless industries all over the world by our +1000 users. We are a small business founded in January 2018 consisting of two full-time structural engineers. We are focused on providing the best support for all our users and we enjoy cooperating with our clients to improve and develop our software. PolyStruc’s software packages currently includes two applications, PolyBeam and PolyStringer. PolyBeam is an effective beamcalculator to design timber, steel and concrete beams. This software has a broad application and is used widely by our clients within design of buildings, Marine Wessels, Cranes, Trucks etc. PolyStringer is a stringer model software which is primarily used to design precast concrete walls and diaphragms. It grants the user an effective method to determine the necessary stringer and shear reinforcement in multistory concrete buildings.

🎉 New Feature in PolyBeam – End Anchorage 🎉 Søren has completed his first project at PolyStruc – and we must say, it turned out great! 👏 The new End Anchorage Calculation in PolyBeam identifies the critical section. Using these critical points, PolyBeam determines the necessary anchorage length, considering shear, bending, and torsion. 💡 The calculation includes reduction factors for concrete cover and confinement by transverse reinforcement. Big kudos to Søren for his work! 👏 Got questions or feedback? Let us know in the comments! #PolyStruc #PolyBeam #StructuralEngineering #ConcreteDesign #NewFeature

Which Column Is strongest? 🤔🏗️ Two identical steel columns, the only difference is the load position. 🔹 Option A: Simple column loaded at the top 🔹 Option B: Simple column loaded at the half way point What do you think? Does the location of the point load matter? Drop you answer in the comments and let’s discuss.👇😊 #StructuralEngineering #PolyColumn #EngineeringChallenge #LoadCapacity #CivilEngineering

🏗 Plastic Redistribution – When You Deviate from the Optimal Plastic Solution Deviating from the optimal plastic solution makes it importent to check reinforcement ductility. However, this can be tricky. To simplify this, the Danish national annex provides a straightforward method: Ductility is sufficient if the provided reinforcement (AsP) falls within a factor of 3 of the elastic or optimal plastic solution (AsE), ensuring 1/3 AsE ≤ AsP ≤ 3 AsE Have you worked with plastic redistribution? Think Your Site is ‘Flat’? 🤔 The Wind Might Disagree! 💡 Did you know that even small hills and slopes can significantly impact wind loads? A review of 1,000 addresses in PolyWind showed that in 10% of cases, the orography factor c₀ was > 1.00. 📊 In other words, orography plays a role more often than you might think. For years, Danish wind load calculations have often ignored orography. But with increasing focus on control and documentation, it’s time to reconsider. 📑 #Construction #WindLoad #Orography #StructuralEngineering #PolyWind

🔥 What is the critical steel temperature – and how do you calculate it? The critical steel temperature is the temperature at which the steel is 100% utilized. But how do you calculate it? Through an iterative process: 1️⃣ Guess a temperature 2️⃣ Apply reduction factors and check utilization 3️⃣ Repeat until utilization is 100% Manually, this takes time—but PolyBeam and PolyColumn do it quickly and accurately. ⚠️ Beware of simplified methods — they're often too conservative be costly. 👉 How do you calculate critical steel temperature? Share your experience! #FireSafety #CriticalSteelTemperature #PolyBeam #PolyColumn #Fire
