RWE is continuing the development of its first commercial-scale floating offshore wind project off the coast of Humboldt County. With a planned installed capacity of up to 1.6 gigawatts, the project could potentially generate enough electricity to power the equivalent of 600,000 U.S. households which is set to start operating in 2030. This development marks a key milestone in California’s journey toward renewable energy and positions the state as a leader in floating offshore wind technology. 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗙𝗹𝗼𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗪𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝗶𝗽𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗯𝘆 𝟵% 𝘁𝗼 𝟮𝟲𝟲𝗚𝗪 🌊⚡ The global pipeline for floating offshore wind projects has grown by 9% over the past year, now reaching 266GW, according to RenewableUK. This represents an increase of 22GW, with the number of projects rising from 285 to 316. Currently, 245MW of floating wind is fully operational across 15 projects in seven countries, led by Norway, the UK, and China. Italy holds the largest pipeline share with 41.3GW (16% of the global total), followed by the USA with 35.3GW (13%), and the UK with 33.1GW (12%). This happens when the requirements and objectives have not been defined and documented properly. It can also occur when a failure to comprehend the business environment takes place.
