Sticks’n’Sushi was founded in March 1994, by brothers Jens and Kim Rahbek and Thor Andersen. Taking inspiration from their half-Japanese, half-Danish background, they created a unique cuisine that combines two culinary traditions. This made Sticks’n’Sushi a dynamic and innovative force on the Danish gourmet scene. Attracting both families and trendsetters, Sticks’n’Sushi is known for making the fashionable, friendly and affordable. Today we have 27 restaurants. 12 in Denmark, 12 in the UK and 3 in Berlin, as well as a Central Kitchen. We are more than 1.400 employees - all carefully recruited based on our belief in employing people with big smiles and small egos.

30 Years of Sticks’n’Sushi! Reflecting on our journey from a small basement in Nansensgade to 27 restaurants in UK, Berlin and Copenhagen – we are reminded of our humble origins and the innovative spirit that has driven us since day one. “Dining with us should be like… dining with a seductive angel” – that's what our first menu from 1994 proclaimed. Back then, our competitors shook their heads; we didn’t spend money on ads but instead printed 5,000 menus, which we happily handed out. A few months later, we had to print 5,000 more. And today, our menu remains the cornerstone of our identity. We are immensely proud to be celebrating our 30th anniversary. That's why we've flown in our best chefs from both the UK and Berlin to deliver a truly unique experience for our guests. A special menu – only 3 days, only in Nansensgade, where it all began. Here, our guests will have the opportunity to eat and pay as in 1994 - enjoying the all-time favourites with a modern twist. And we will also celebrate with our guests in all of our other Copenhagen restaurants – for 10 days we will reintroduce 6 favorites and a cocktail from the past 30 years. To everyone who has been a part of this fantastic journey over the last 30 years, thank you. Your support and dedication are the cornerstones of our success. As we step into the fresh beginnings of 2024, I find myself pausing to look back at the year we just left behind – a year that could very well be named after one of our guest menu favourites; "Mixed Emotion." The headwinds were strong and persistent, and it seems they are set to continue as we venture into 2024. I am so proud as I reflect on the fantastic achievements we've made across our restaurants in Denmark, UK, and Germany. The opening of two more restaurants in Shoreditch and Kingston is purely down to guts, commitment and hard work. Moreover, the launch of our Food Truck, which had a fantastic first festival season in and around Copenhagen, added a new way to reach more of our regular guests and meet new ones. The heart and soul of our success, however, are our incredible colleagues – our "shoal of fish". Their dedication, the biggest smiles paired with the smallest egos, have been the cornerstone for almost 30 years… A huge bundle of thanks to our amazing team, our loyal guests, business partners, and everyone who has been a part of our journey.
