Did you ever dream of combining a top-model microscope with the XO FLOW unit? That is what German dentist, Dr. Oliver Schäfer has done. Why? He explains that for endodontic procedures he likes to use the microscope as it allows him to see and treat the root canal systems more confidently. “Working with XO FLOW is awesome because it combines all the necessary tools for endo treatments in one dental unit (esp. motor with reciprocating functions and ultrasonics). I switch between different file systems with one button and all the corresponding settings are automatically applied. All functions can also be controlled by the foot switch which dramatically improves ergonomics compared to stand-alone devices”, says Dr. Schäfer. He continues to praise the fact that the XO FLOW dental unit can handle multiple endodontic handpieces at the same time, which is convenient since the assistant can always insert the next file of the sequence. This enables minimal interruption as the dental assistant can hand over all instruments with no need for the dentist to look away from the microscope.
