Deep Tech Lab — Quantum is a new initiative from BioInnovation Institute (BII) in Copenhagen to leverage Denmark’s world-leading research in quantum physics with BII’s recognized excellence in creating, fostering, and maturing start-up and spin-out companies within another Deep Tech field: Life Science. We will support early-stage companies based on quantum and quantum-enabling technologies with programs tailored for this field and with the same goal of ensuring that they, too, can realize their full commercial potential.

The event focused on the potential for collaboration between Colorado's federal Tech Hub and Denmark’s quantum community – including us here at DTL-Q. This partnership aims to accelerate advancements in quantum research and development💫 A highlight of the visit was the startup pitch session, where emerging ventures from both regions presented their cutting-edge ideas in quantum computing and sensing. From the Colorado side, we were excited to hear from Ian Dickinson, CEO of LongPath Technologies, Inc., Rob Hays, CEO of Atom Computing, and Lauri Sainiemi from Microsoft Azure Quantum Program, as well as Eve Lieberman from the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade who gave an engaging overview of the quantum ecosystem 🚀 The delegation also got to meet Sqale ApS from our Venture Lab program here at BioInnovation Institute, as well as a few of the more established quantum companies from the Danish ecosystem; Sparrow Quantum and Kvantify 👏 A big thank you to all our guests and presenters! 𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐤 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐛𝐲! 🚀 Today the Danish Minister of Education and Research Christina Egelund and Swedish counterpart Mats Persson dropped by Deep Tech Lab - Quantum. Quantum technology will play a crucial role in preventing cyber attacks in the future, protecting critical data and safeguarding the security of NATO countries. Therefore, development and new solutions in the area are a high priority in NATO cooperation, and with the establishment of a NATO quantum center in Copenhagen, Denmark is at the forefront. Just like Denmark, Sweden is a strong quantum nation, and the country will play a crucial role in the NATO-cooperation on quantum technology. At Deep Tech Lab - Quantum we were happy to discuss how a Danish-Swedish collaboration can be strengthened even further, and BioInnovation Institutes CEO Jens Nielsen and Deep Tech Lab - Quantums CBO Cathal J.
