The IoT #eSIM standard (SGP.32) promises IoT device manufacturers more flexibility in switching service providers. But how does it do that? Let's look at some of the benefits SGP.32 will offer IoT enterprises. ⚡ First, the new standard will eliminate vendor lock-in. With IoT eSIM, any device can receive eSIM profiles from any #telecom. That way, IoT enterprises can avoid technical integrations between network operators if they want to switch providers. ⚡ Secondly, the IoT eSIM standard doesn't require SMS to download a profile. This will make a huge difference for network-constrained IoT devices and technologies like NB-IoT. ⚡ The third benefit is the variety of download methods that devices can use to receive eSIM profiles. While the M2M variant followed a model where the new eSIM profile was pushed onto the eSIM card, the new standard uses both push and pull models, making eSIM more accessible for different use cases in IoT. Although the IoT eSIM isn't market-ready yet, we can already see how big of an impact it will have on the industry. We have several blog posts, a webinar, and a public presentation that dive into the topic in more detail, so check out the resources in the comments! 👋 #internetofthings

Who knew IoT could mean something as simple as Internet of Things? If you visited our booth at Digit Conference, you do now! 🧠 Our first time at Digit was definitely a success! We got to talk to so many enthusiastic developers, educate them about IoT and 1oT, and test their knowledge with our high-tech Post-it game. Our CTO, Andres Robam, also went on stage to talk about physical #security aspects that can often slip your mind. If you heard the talk, we hope you're already thinking about your contingency plans! Thank you to everyone who visited us and made the day so fun! 📸 Pics by Silver Gutmann / Aparaator and the 1oTeam #digitconf #digit2024 #internetofthings

We're in the full swing of preparing for CES 2025, where we'll have a booth for the very first time! We're going with the EIC and other amazing European companies, so Karl Jõeäär visited the pre-event, CES Unveiled, where he got to meet all the other companies and learn about the conference's main themes. Thank you to the EIC for hosting us and offering us the chance to increase our presence at CES! #EUatCES2025 #EUeic European Innovation Council and SMEs Executive Agency (EISMEA)

Our Sales Director Taavi Jõgeva teamed up with KPN IoT's Mark van den Berg to write about connectivity-related challenges global expansion can bring to IoT companies. 🤝 Here's a quick look at what they covered: 🌍 Expanding to a new continent or even a smaller region means that companies need to figure out the regulations for each new deployment country. In addition to cultural differences that can complicate doing business, local laws are often a stumbling block for outsiders. ⚙️ There's also the challenge of choosing the right #hardware. Equipment designed for one market may not operate in other countries, so device manufacturers need to consult with their connectivity partner or other specialists to avoid bigger and more expensive issues later on. So, how can you avoid and tackle those challenges? Both Mark and Taavi agree that the answer lies in #cooperation. Consulting with an MNO or another connectivity partner with experience in the region should be very helpful for a successful expansion. The full article on our blog expands on those challenges and uses the Gulf region's growing IoT market as an example. Go check it out! https://lnkd.in/gQMif7Zy #internetofthings

💸 Our #development team has been busy bringing US dollars to 1oT Terminal! We integrated Stripe as our new payment provider, which means our customers can choose to receive their invoices from us in euros or dollars. This is great news for our US customers, who can now enjoy a smoother billing experience. What else is new? • Fixed a bug in the SIMs view that caused the countries filter to not include all the correct countries when you filtered by continents. • Changed the Event log to show provisioning commands as "In progress" instead of "Error" when SIM status changes haven't finished yet. #softwaredevelopment #internetofthings
