Producer of high efficiency solid oxide electrolysis cells and stacks: the next generation of power-to-x solutions.
About us
Established in 2021, H2Electro specializes in manufacturing high-efficiency solid oxide electrolysis cells, paving the way for the widespread adoption of green hydrogen and the transition away from fossil fuels. Our innovative solid oxide cells operate at temperatures ranging from 800 to 850°C, optimizing water electrolysis efficiency by minimizing electrical losses. Unlike traditional electrolysis stacks, our High-Temperature Electrolysis (HTE) systems require no precious metals, offering a sustainable solution for green hydrogen production. At the core of our technology is the use of all-ceramic fuel electrodes, a departure from conventional nickel cermet materials like Ni-YSZ. These fully ceramic electrodes boast exceptional stability, even in the presence of oxygen, sulphur, or carbon contaminants. As a result, our stacks eliminate the need for a protective gas atmosphere or extensive gas purification, significantly reducing system costs associated with balance of plant (BOP). Our HTE systems play a crucial role in advancing the future of energy by enabling the efficient storage of renewable energy and facilitating the decarbonization of key industries such as ammonia and steel production. By harnessing intermittent energy resources like wind and solar on a larger scale, our technology offers a sustainable alternative to fossil fuels, bolstering energy security and driving positive ecological impact wherever it is implemented.

Myth: Hydrogen production is inefficient. Reality: Hydrogen production efficiency has dramatically increased in recent years. At H2Electro, our solid oxide electrolysis cells (SOECs) achieve up to 30% higher electrical efficiency compared to traditional methods. By using high-temperature steam electrolysis and tapping into waste heat, we significantly reduce electricity consumption, making hydrogen production cleaner and more sustainable. 🌱 Moreover, hydrogen’s ability to store excess renewable energy makes it invaluable for balancing energy grids and enhancing the sustainability of intermittent energy sources like wind and solar. In the larger picture, advances in hydrogen production, like those we’re leading at H2Electro, contribute directly to global decarbonization efforts. As industries and governments continue to invest in hydrogen infrastructure, efficient hydrogen production will be crucial in reducing reliance on fossil fuels and supporting long-term energy independence. ⚡🚀 Curious about the efficiencies we’re reaching? Myth: Hydrogen is too dangerous to handle. Reality: Green hydrogen is actually safer than many conventional fuels. Hydrogen has been safely used for over a century in industries around the world. Today, modern technologies make it even safer. At H2Electro, we’ve designed our products to ensure maximum safety. Our high-temperature electrolysis cells and stacks use cutting-edge technology to reduce risks like leaks and explosions, providing a safe, reliable source of green hydrogen. When compared to gasoline, propane, or diesel, hydrogen has several safety advantages: Non-toxic: Unlike fossil fuels, hydrogen doesn’t release harmful substances into the environment. Lighter than air: Hydrogen is 14 times lighter than air, meaning it rises and disperses quickly, reducing the risk of ground-level ignition. Lower radiant heat: Hydrogen flames generate less heat than gasoline flames, lowering the risk of secondary fires. Higher oxygen requirement for explosion: Hydrogen needs more oxygen to ignite than gasoline, making it less likely to explode in normal conditions. 🔒🧪 At H2Electro, we’re committed to ensuring hydrogen is a safer and greener energy solution for the future.
