🔸 Exciting news from portfolio…welcoming Adam Chapman-Ballard as the new Global Marketing Director of Pactum AI 🔸 💡 Three questions: 📍 What drew you to Pactum? "I was drawn to Pactum as having worked in the procurement software space, I could see the dire need for new tools, new ways of working and how much practitioners have been looking for a way to mature the value chain of procurement. Having seen analysts talk about agentic AI - and Pactum - as being a real breakout for procurement, then seeing the amazing customer roster, I was hooked!" 🛠️ What are your top priorities as Global Marketing Director in a rapidly scaling AI company? "There's 3 strands for me. Firstly, to help educate the market on what's possible with Pactum, and the difference between GenAI and Agentic AI. The authority and autonomy of agentic AI in Pactum being what really brings the benefits. Secondly, it's about getting the message out there and even in the days of AI, good old fashioned demand generation. That needs backing up with the right tools (and using AI ourselves), strong messaging and PR, great relationships with analysts, collateral and media showing case studies and presence at expos. Finally, to stay on top of the ever growing wave, building the right team for the business - with experienced data-driven marketers, tightly integrated with an energetic SDR (sales development representative) team who handle inbound leads and generate outbound opportunities, and are close-knit with the AE/sales teams." 👥 What should founders think about when hiring a CMO?  "If you're at the point of fast growth, go for experience - a CMO who has experience in your industry or area, and a killer network of people and third-parties that are tried, tested and true that they can lean on to get the job done. Then that CMO needs a clear brief and alignment with the revenue and growth goals of the business. When you arm the CMO with that, give them the encouragement, support and latitude to get the job done. Earlier stage startups won't be able to do every single project in a quarter, but a solid plan aligned to quarterly goals and therefore truly believed in by the founders will yield timely results.
