At Baltika Group, sustainability is at the core of our operations. We are proud to use eco-friendly KIUD packaging, made entirely from recycled textile fibers, for our brand Ivo Nikkolo. KIUD packaging is created from textile waste such as old clothes and fabrics, transforming these materials into durable, tear-resistant packaging. This not only diverts waste from landfills but also repurposes it in an environmentally responsible way. The production of KIUD emits 50% less CO2 than traditional cardboard and is free from water and chemical usage, significantly reducing the ecological footprint. Moreover, KIUD packaging decreases land use impacts by 68% compared to conventional packaging materials. The materials used in KIUD packaging are processed thermomechanically without chemicals, greatly simplifying the end-of-life recycling process. By partnering with KIUD, we support a sustainable lifecycle for packaging through a structured return system. This return system encourages consumers to return used KIUD packages to designated drop-off points, thus promoting material reuse and supporting the principles of the circular economy. Addressing the issue of textile waste, where nearly 78% of it in Europe ends up in landfills, incinerated, or exported, using KIUD is a direct action towards reducing this waste. This packaging box is made by repurposing textile waste ✂️🌍📦 Millions of tons of textiles are discarded every year. A minimal %age of them is recycled. The rest ends up in landfills and incinerators. Adding to the carbon emissions in the atmosphere. KIUD packaging is solving this by reusing textile waste. It procures used textiles such as old clothes and fabrics. And converts them into packaging boxes. Using a novel thermomechanical processing. That does not use any chemicals or water. And that’s not it! This solves another problem. The problem with conventional cardboard boxes. Cardboard contributes to deforestation and habitat loss. And uses extensive water and chemicals for production. A lot of it also ends up in landfills and incinerators. Leading to greenhouse gas emissions.
