Our CEO, Ivar Kruusenberg, had the privilege of speaking at the European Angel Investment Summit 2024 organised by EBAN - European Business Angel Network, held in #Brussels! 🇧🇪 This year’s summit was the largest gathering of EU Business Angels to date, bringing together representatives from all associated countries, with defence being the primary topic of conversation. Ivar delivered a riveting pitch to the judges, and among six other companies, #PowerUP received the most interest, recognised both as an exciting investment opportunity and a key player in frontline technology. 💡🔋 A crucial message was highlighted: without reliable power, other defence tech can't function. Last week, Ivar Kruusenberg represented PowerUP at the Tech Tour Deeptech & Defence event in #Tallinn. 🇪🇪 Among 43 innovative companies and 50+ investors, Ivar delivered both an elevator pitch and a 5-minute presentation to the judges. 🎤💼 This event wasn't just about pitching. During the networking sessions, many ideas were exchanged on integrating AI into power management systems and discussed the future of sustainable energy in defense applications. 🤖💡 🏆 Hats off to the 8 winning companies pushing the boundaries in their fields! Let’s bust some myths about hydrogen safety! 💥🔍 Contrary to popular belief, hydrogen is not inherently more dangerous than the gasoline and natural gas we use every day. Much of the fear comes from historical events like the Hindenburg disaster. But here’s the truth: it wasn't hydrogen that killed people during the Hindenburg incident. Casualties were caused by falling or by debris—not by hydrogen burns. ⚠️ Modern hydrogen usage is completely different, with advanced safety protocols and technologies that tell a safer, smarter story. Here are some key points: - 𝗙𝗹𝗮𝗺𝗺𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲: Hydrogen is flammable like gasoline but is non-toxic and disperses quickly, minimising ignition risks. Its only combustion product is water vapor, unlike gasoline, which emits harmful toxins.    - 𝗥𝗼𝗯𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗠𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀:  Hydrogen-powered vehicles, like the Toyota Mirai and Hyundai Nexo, are equipped with advanced safety features and high-strength storage technologies. - 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹-𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀: Hydrogen is already being used safely in various settings, proving its adaptability in everyday life. - 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝘂𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: With strong regulations and public education playing pivotal roles in safety, hydrogen is on track to be a key player in sustainable energy.
