Delighted that the Protecting places of worship project as part of its long term sustainability has joined forces with sibling 🇪🇺funded initiatives including the PRECRISIS Project, SHRINEs Project, SAFE-CITIES, SPIRIT EU, PROTONE & HECTOR, forming a cluster for collaboration. This is an important development led by the European Organisation for Security (EOS) to maximise the potential of #innovation actions across 🇪🇺 producing new tools, techniques, technologies and training to better #protect public places and places of #worship from all manner of contemporary #threat vectors.

About us
Supported by the G20 Inter Faith Forum and the United Nations Inter-Regional Crime & Justice Research Institute (UNICRI), the PROTECTOR (PROTECTing places of wORship) project is funded by the European Commission Internal Security Fund for Police (ISFP), which will design, develop and deliver the next generation of integrated measures to enhance the protection of all places of worship. Combining operational insights from five law enforcement agencies and expertise from leading academic institutions and private sector organisations, the PROTECTOR project will significantly enhance the protection of places of worship through the assessment of hate crime and terrorism threats, examining protective security measures and law enforcement agency responses.

Representing #SHIELD. SHIELD is an ISFP funded project, aimed at protecting Places of Worship from the risks of violent extremism. Implementing risk factors’ analysis, SHIELD is to enhance security postures at Places of Worship through improving the coordination, cooperation, and communication between stakeholders. 🔹 Kaashif Awan - Senior Executive - Enhancing Faith Institutions (EFI). Representing #SOAR. SOAR stands for ‘Strengthening the security and resilience of at-risk religious sites and communities’ programme. Enhancing Faith Institutions (EFI) is the lead partner of this EU-funded project and is working alongside its European project partners Finn Church Aid and Architects’ Council of Europe. The project is supported by the United Nations Alliance of Civilisations. A key component of the programme is to advance the protection of religious sites by implementing a ‘Security by Design’ (SBD) concept.
