🔌 In mid-October, Sunly began offering a manual frequency restoration reserve (mFRR) to the Continental Europe frequency management platform, which supports Estonia's supply security as the country prepares to desynchronise from the Russian power grid in February. Sunly is a qualified market participant with the Pikkori battery and more than ten solar parks. During the first ten days, Sunly's service was ordered over 100 times, proving that it is a critical resource for the functioning of the system. According to Adam Erki Enok, Sunly Estonia's Energy Storage Project Manager, private companies can now contribute more to meeting power reserve needs by investing in energy storage solutions. "Energy storage simultaneously helps to lower electricity spot market prices and to maintain grid frequency, thus reducing costs for our society," Enok said. 🌍 Sometimes it happens that two exciting events take place at the same time – and that's how we managed to attend both the Baltics' largest sustainability festival, Impact Day, and the youth festival for the electrical sector, Positron, in one weekend. 🌱 At Impact Day, we hosted the Sunly EXPO area, where we talked about how to switch your business to local renewable energy. 🌱 We held a panel discussion where we discussed the joys and concerns related to sustainability. A big thank you to Holger Haljand (CEO at Telia Estonia), Maris Riim (Sustainability Area Manager at Swedbank Estonia), and Lauri Tuulberg (Co-Founder & CEO at Welement; Member of The Board of Advisors at Rand & Tuulberg) for sharing your experiences! The discussion was moderated by Taavi Velleste (Product Manager at Sunly Retail). 🌱 Rasmus Udde, Innovation Lead at Sunly, joined a discussion together with Kristjan Kuhi (Member of the Management Board at Eesti Energia), Ramon Rask (Partner at RASK Attorneys-at-Law), Piotr Kosznik (Director of Innovation and Sales at Bureau Veritas Group) and Ken Smith (VP for Sustainability and Safety, South & West Region at Bureau Veritas Group) where they discussed what kind of world we will leave to our grandchildren. ⚡ At Positron, Erkki Kallas, Member of the Management Board and CTO at Sunly, participated in a discussion about the future of energy. Alongside Lauri Ulm (Head of Wind Development at Enefit Green) and Henri Ormus (Co-Founder and Member of the Management Board at Fermi Energia), they discussed Estonia's climate goals and how to achieve them.

🎨💡 Just like renewable energy, art encourages us to think outside the box and imagine new possibilities. Studies even show that having art in the workplace can boost creativity and lower stress, which helps fuel fresh ideas in everything we do. The founders of Sunly, Priit Lepasepp, Martin Kruus, and Kalle Kiigske, are not only known for their in-depth knowledge of renewable energy but also for being passionate art collectors. Over the years, they have infused their enthusiasm for art into the company and its communities, supporting various art events. To integrate art even more into the daily work environment, we invited a well-known curator Lilian Hiob to curate an exhibition from the founders' personal collections. 🇱🇻☀ Priit Lepasepp, Sunly's Co-Founder & CEO, highlights the huge potential for private investments in Latvia's energy market. By 2030, half of the country's energy consumption is set to come from renewable sources, with over 60% of electricity generated from hydropower, wind, and solar energy. “Latvia already has significant advantages in the field of renewable energy development, especially thanks to hydropower plants and the future potential of wind and solar energy. The benefits will be felt across various sectors, as cheaper energy will increase business competitiveness, and the investments will help boost the state budget, allowing for the allocation of funds to other priority areas," Priit noted. 🌱🇱🇻 Priit Lepasepp, Co-Founder and CEO of Sunly, highlights Latvia's progress in renewable energy. The country has moved from relying mostly on hydropower to embracing wind and solar power. When Sunly first started investing in Latvia in 2019, the renewable energy market was underdeveloped, but since then, Latvia has shifted towards wind and solar energy, creating hybrid parks that combine these sources with battery storage. This transition has made energy production more efficient and reduced Latvia's dependence on foreign fuel, especially from Russia. Read more ⬇
