We are thrilled to announce that we have secured the general contract for a brand-new kindergarten in Tallinn! This public procurement project stood out due to its innovative evaluation criteria, which emphasized a balance between design and a comprehensive "turnkey" construction price. Our project, "Tetris," emerged victorious thanks to its flexible modular design, allowing the kindergarten to adapt to various needs and sizes. Collaborating with the talented architects at DAGOpen, we've crafted a space that is both functional and visually appealing. The new facility will feature 12 group rooms, a kitchen, a music hall, interest classes, workspaces for teachers, and essential auxiliary rooms. To enhance efficiency and quality, we will utilize wooden frame modules produced in our factory. This approach not only accelerates the construction process but also emphasizes sustainability by prioritizing local sawn timber and commonly used cross-sections of wooden materials, thereby minimizing the building's carbon footprint. Today, Estonian Ambassador to Ireland Kairi Künka, in partnership with the Irish Embassy, Woodhouse Estonia, Kiili Municipal Administration , and Vaela Kindergarten staff, hosted a delegation of 21 distinguished Irish guests. The visitors, representing organizations such as the Timber in Construction Steering Group, Raoisearch, The Land Development Agency, Department of Housing, four Senators, The Royal Institute of Architects of Ireland, Construction Industry Federation, and Department of Agriculture, Food, and Marine, had the opportunity to tour the newly constructed Vaela Kindergarten. The primary objective of the visit was to showcase the innovative factory-produced construction method used for the kindergarten building and to highlight its unique technological features. We are grateful to all participants and hope that this visit has been inspiring for future projects and collaborations between Ireland and Estonia. This week, the Baltic Housing Conference took place in Tallinn. The program was versatile and focused on the #reconstruction of residential buildings, the structure of Ukraine and the financing of #renovation. As part of the conference, the Timbeco factory was also visited, which allowed the participants to see the production of both #wooden elements and #modular buildings. The organizer of the conference is the Estonian Union of Co-Operative Housing Associations
