In this week's blog, we look at talent planning 101 and how organizations can source high-quality candidates to fill open roles 👉 https://hubs.ly/Q02T7n2N0

Every talent team 𝘵𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘴 to avoid making bad hires. But... a big reason behind bad hires is baked into most company's hiring process: adding a close date to job applications. Close dates are straight out of the traditional hiring playbook, but they also force talent managers to hire people from a stagnant talent pool—one that only shrinks once the interview process kicks off. Toggl threw out this playbook years ago in favor of a continuous hiring funnel that helps us avoid bad hires. In our latest blog, Toggl’s People and Talent Manager Aya ELK. breaks down why job close dates are 𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 and how People Ops teams can build a continuous hiring funnel to avoid bad hires 👇

Head of People @Toggl ⏱️ | Remote Work Expert 🌍 | People Operations Advisor 🛟

What excites me the most about remote People Ops in this moment is we are 𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘂𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀 🌍 People Operations as we know it right now is completely uncharted territory. Traditional, administrative HR roles have turned stale. And People Ops is leading the charge in actively 𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻 𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆. Think about it. HR has a (pretty awful) reputation for being rigid and stuffy. Or worse, an industry that’s focused on paperwork and compliance over people. Fast-forward to today. People Ops teams are building systems that empower teams, support growth, and encourage flexibility. It’s no longer just about keeping the machine running — it’s about 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗴𝗮𝗺𝗲. The best part? We’re doing this in real-time. There’s no roadmap, no playbook. We’re making the rules as we go, and we’re doing it with the understanding that how we shape People Ops today will influence the way businesses operate tomorrow. Being at the forefront of this shift? Honestly, it’s so damn cool. 😎

We all know time = money. At work, the number of hours we spend on a project influences how much money we earn in exchange for our time. However, tracking how many hours are earning you money—your 𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀—is the only tell if you are being paid enough for your time. On this week's blog, Mile Živković breaks down why tracking billable hours is the key to becoming more profitable, productive, and happier with your work. Link in comments 👇
