This year’s Sustainable Design Platinum winner (sponsored by UPM) is… Wool Gusset Envelope by Woola ! Wool Gusset Envelopes were designed to replace plastic bubble mailers, and they offer a sustainable way to ship products safely and deliver a message of sustainability with the parcel. They are made of a regenerative waste material, reusable and compostable. Woola have also launched a pilot circular program in Estonia to let people return the wool inlays to keep the valuable material in the loop! Well done Woola team! #pentawards #pentawards2024 #pentawardsgala #pentawardswinners #packagingdesign #galaceremony #packagingdesigner

    Making packaging sustainable at Woola

❓ Sincere question for those who love wearing wristwatches: what watch brands do you think would be a good match for our Wool Boxes? Here’s the backstory: when you buy a new watch, it often comes in a box made of synthetic materials—things like foam, velour, or other plastics. While they might look nice, they’re not recyclable. And of course, fossil fuels are burned to make them. If you don't keep the box to store your watch, chances are you toss it out pretty quickly. It most likely then ends up sitting in a landfill, where it’ll take hundreds of years to break down. But what if designer watches came in boxes that were not only beautiful but made from sustainable materials? That’s where our Wool Box prototype comes in. You can still use it for storing your watch, or you can repurpose the wool layer and recycle the cardboard. Even if you do throw any part of it away, it’ll decompose much faster than plastic, leaving no microplastics behind. So, what do you think? Know any brands that would be a great fit? Tag them in the comments ⌚

Sales Manager at Woola. Replacing plastic bubble wrap with wool waste. How ? Send me a message.

Last week at LUXEPACK Monaco, I had the honor of accepting the Formes de Luxe award Woola received in the E-Commerce Packaging category. 🌍📦 This recognition validates we're doing something right on our mission to deliver innovative, sustainable packaging solutions that help businesses reduce their environmental impact. 🌱 Our Wool Envelope, made from waste wool, was designed not just to replace plastic but to reshape how we think about packaging in e-commerce. A big thank you to our partners, clients, and the entire Woola team for making this possible! 🙏 Stay tuned for more, as we continue to push boundaries in sustainable packaging.  #SustainablePackaging #Innovation #LuxePack

We have some news... instead of spamming you with several posts, we'll just sum it all up here: 1. The door to our HQ finally has a sign that makes it clear it's not a toilet. This is an important update as the guests of our neighbors have started to prefer our restrooms... We blame it on our excellent restroom candle selection. 2. Our Wool Envelope is a finalist of Formes de Luxe awards! 🎉 Winners will be announced on September 30 at LUXEPACK Monaco. 3. Woola is also a finalist at Luxury Innovation Summit & Awards. 🤞 Our CEO Anna-Liisa will pitch at the event in Geneva on October 1st. 4. Our Wool Gusset Envelope has been nominated for PENTAWARDS in the "Sustainable Design" category. 🙌 Results coming in on October 25th.
