The main objective of this expression of interest is to select licensees who can use the CAF and CAF Africa Cup of Nations branded products and produce a wide range of merchandise. CAF President Dr Motsepe congratulates Morocco for winning Bronze in Men Football at the Olympics and Egypt for Qualifying to the Men Semi-Finals The President of CAF Dr Patrice Motsepe said: “CAF and Football on the African Continent congratulates and is proud of Morocco for winning Bronze in Men Football at the Olympics and Egypt for qualifying to the Men Semi-Finals. It is the first time in the history of Men Football at the Olympics that two African Nations have qualified for the Semi-Finals. Cameroon and Nigeria were previous recipients of the Olympic Men Football gold medals. Significant human and infrastructure investments are currently being made in Africa for the development and growth of football and particularly in youth academies for Boys and Girls. Local and international businesses and African Governments are partnering with CAF and several National Football Associations and Leagues as the global competitiveness and popularity of African football is increasing. The Confédération Africaine de Football (“CAF”) President Dr Patrice Motsepe is saddened by the passing of former CAF President, Issa Hayatou. President Issa Hayatou led CAF from 1988 to 2017 and passed on today. The President of CAF Dr Patrice Motsepe said: “I express my deepest personal condolences and the condolences of the 54 CAF Member Associations, on the passing of CAF former President, President Issa Hayatou; to his family, the Fédération Camerounaise de Football, its President Samuel Eto’o and the people of Cameroon. CAF and African Football will forever be grateful to President Hayatou for his enormous and far-reaching contributions, over many years to the development and growth of football in Africa. He will forever live in our hearts and minds.” President Motsepe has requested that the CAF flag and the flags of all CAF Member Associations fly at half-mast for a period of five days, until 13 August 2024. Themed "Your Story Matters: Why African football needs to tell its story," the event emphasized the critical role of effective communication and storytelling in showcasing the progress and potential of African football. Key highlights included: 🔹Insightful discussions led by experienced speakers with backgrounds in major sporting events like the FIFA World Cup and NBA. 🔹 Emphasis on aligning with global communication practices, as highlighted by CAF GS Veron Mosengo-Omba, noting the exemplary communication efforts during the recent TotalEnergies CAF AFCON in Côte d’Ivoire. 🔹 Launch of the CAF Future Media Officers programme, producing media professionals for global events, including the ongoing Olympics and upcoming FIFA competitions. 🔹 A dedicated focus on building winning communication strategies, mastering modern media relations, and leveraging digital platforms. CAF launches Tender process for Sub-Saharan and Rest of the World media rights package for TotalEnergies CAF Champions League and TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup 2024/25 season    CAF has opened an invitation to tender (ITT) for the media rights in the Sub-Saharan Africa region and the Rest of the World (“RoW”) on a Pay/Pay-per-View and Free to Air basis to its flagship club events; the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League and TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup 2024/25 season.    Deadline for submission is 23 August 2024.   The media rights available are on a Pay/Pay-per-view and Free to Air basis across the Sub-Saharan region until 2025 (2024/25 season).    The rights are available for exploitation across most languages across the region including English and local language, albeit with broad exclusions for the French language.  The tender process will allow CAF to select the media companies that are best placed to achieve CAF’s objectives of providing maximum exposure for the tournament and offering fans in Sub-Saharan Africa a high-quality viewing experience.   The events being offered in the tender are:  TotalEnergies CAF Champions League 2024/25 TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup 2024/25 Media companies or organisations wishing to participate in the tender processes can request the ITT by email.
