Each film captures the passion, collaboration, and impact of our efforts throughout the two years of ERTH, from conserving the two domes of Safiyy al-Din Jawhar and Yahya al-Shabih to empowering local communities and promoting sustainable practices. What to Expect: -A step-by-step guide to conservation techniques for climate change damage to masonry structures. - Highlights of our innovative urban interventions using groundwater extracted from heritage sites for the benefit of the community. These films are more than just documentation of the process—they are tools for change, meant to inspire and empower professionals and communities to protect their heritage and embrace sustainable development. The workshop will address the following topics: -  The concept of heritage and its relationship to climate change -  An overview of ERTH - Athar Lina Heritage and Climate Project - A detailed presentation of the conservation techniques implemented in the conservation projects of Yahya al-Shabih and the Safiyy al-Din domes, which include: - Structural and Masonry repairs - Dewatering, drainage, and water collection for use in greening, cleaning, and fire resistance - Desalination - Roof repairs and insulation Date and time for the online sessions: Friday 27 December to Sunday 29 December, 5:30 pm to 9:30 pm. Patterns of Cairo, Colour, and Refuse Reuse Cairo and Egypt have a rich culture of colour that transcends time and is manifested in a variety of aspects and daily life. Simultaneously, Egyptians have a long tradition of being resourceful, establishing unique crafts around the reuse of agricultural byproducts and small pieces of wood. Within this context, the Patterns of Cairo project has invited Laura Luchtman from Kukka, a chromatic atelier for textile and surface design, and Paco Böckelmann from Studio ThusThat, a studio focusing on the use of uncommon materials such as refuse, in a week-long exploration of patterns and contemporary design. We open the discussion to the public in this talk where both designers present their work, followed by a Q&A session.  This is the first public talk organised by Patterns of Cairo.
