Orascom Construction Successfully Completes Construction of Sharm El-Sheikh Seawater Desalination Reverse Osmosis Plant Orascom Construction, in a joint venture partnership, has completed the engineering, procurement, and construction of the Sharm El-Sheikh Seawater Desalination Reverse Osmosis (RO) Plant and is currently finalizing pre-commissioning works. This facility utilizes advanced RO technology to purify seawater, ensuring a sustainable and dependable source of fresh water for the region. Initially designed to produce 30,000 cubic meters of water daily, expandable to 60,000 cubic meters, the plant reflects Orascom Construction's commitment to sustainable growth and efficient resource management. Orascom Construction is engaged in various projects within the water/wastewater sector, including desalination, wastewater treatment, irrigation, and water infrastructure. Our scope encompasses the 56-kilometer East of Nile Monorail Line, linking East Cairo to the New Administrative Capital with 22 stations and a depot. With a strong track record of delivering over 3,500 kilometers of railway projects in Egypt and the Middle East, Orascom Construction is involved in other significant projects like High-Speed Rail, Light Rail Transit, and different phases of the Greater Cairo Metro. Orascom Construction Completes Emaar’s Vida Marina Hotel & Yacht Club Orascom Construction continues to strengthen its partnership with Emaar Hospitality Group and expand its presence in the hospitality sector with the recent completion of the Vida Marina Hotel & Yacht Club on Egypt’s North Coast. Spanning over 24,112 square meters with a built-up area of approximately 37,000 square meters, the newly inaugurated hotel boasts 120 guest rooms and suites, alongside 110 premium serviced apartments. As the main contractor, Orascom Construction handed over the hotel, marking the commencement of operations with guests welcomed during the last weekend of June 2024. This project enhances our regional hospitality portfolio, featuring prominent developments such as the Al Masa Hotel. It also stands alongside the Al Alamein Hotel, also completed for Emaar, which was rapidly upgraded into a re-branded luxury destination on a fast-track basis in less than 8 months. The New Delta Irrigation Water Treatment Plant Project Achieves Four Guinness World Records We are pleased to announce that the New Delta Irrigation Water Treatment Plant, constructed by Orascom Construction in consortium with Arab Contractors, Hassan Allam, and Metito, has secured four Guinness World Records (GWR): -Largest water treatment facility in the world -Most capacious and operationally robust water treatment plant -Largest area for epoxy coating in structures -Biggest sludge treatment plant globally Globally recognized as the largest of its kind, the plant has a production capacity of 7.5 million cubic meters per day and covers an area of 320,000 square meters. Operating at a flow rate of 86.8 cubic meters per second and equipped with a sludge treatment capacity of 670.01 kg/s, it establishes a new benchmark for water management in Egypt. Completed in a remarkable 24 months, the project reflects Orascom Construction’s leadership in sustainable infrastructure. This marks the project’s second recognition from Guinness World Records, following its previous achievement in 2023, further emphasizing its significance. Osama Bishai, CEO of Orascom Construction, remarks, “ This achievement underscores Orascom Construction’s dedication to delivering innovative and sustainable solutions, and our leadership in the water sector which includes a treatment and desalination capacity of 17 million m³/day in Egypt and the Middle East.
