Orascom Construction’s Onsi Sawiris Scholarship Program Awards Egyptian Students Full Scholarships to Attend Top U.S. Universities Orascom Construction is pleased to announce that, for the 24th consecutive year, it has awarded full educational scholarships to three Egyptian students through the "Onsi Sawiris Scholarship Program." These students will pursue undergraduate degrees at Stanford University and the University of Chicago. The recent ceremony brought together students and their families for a meaningful celebration. Osama Bishai, CEO of Orascom Construction, attended the event, demonstrating the company's dedication to supporting education. Mr. Bishai presented the scholarship certificates, reflecting the company's commitment to recognizing and celebrating the students' academic accomplishments. Since 2000, Orascom Construction, in partnership with the Sawiris Foundation for Social Development, has provided 99 scholarships, facilitating education at prestigious U.S. institutions like Harvard, MIT, and the University of Pennsylvania. The scholarships fully cover tuition, living expenses, travel, and health insurance. Recipients are also committed to returning to Egypt and working for two years after graduation, contributing to the country's development. Al Alamein Towers in Al Alamein New City Achieves 25 Million Man-Hours Without Lost Time Injuries Orascom Construction (OC) is pleased to announce a significant safety achievement for the Al Alamein Towers project in Al Alamein New City, having reached 25 million man-hours without a lost-time injury. The Al Alamein Towers project is a major multi-purpose high-rise development, featuring four towers and a podium. With a total built-up area of 291,175 square meters and 107 floors, it is set to offer approximately 710 apartments. OC has successfully completed Phase 1 of the construction and is currently progressing through Phase 2, which focuses on finishing and electromechanical work. This safety achievement reflects our commitment to safety and quality in advancing the development of Egypt’s North Coast. Progress on Egypt’s High-Speed Rail: Green Line Orascom Construction is pleased to announce a significant milestone on Egypt’s High-Speed Rail project with the arrival of the first Desiro train at the New Capital Service Point on the Green Line, one of three lines in the sixth longest High-Speed Rail network. Orascom Construction in collaboration with Siemens Mobility and The Arab Contractors is building this transformative 2,000-kilometer project aimed at reducing carbon emissions by 70% and enhancing transportation efficiency nationwide. The Green Line stretches 660 kilometers, linking Ain Sokhna on the Red Sea to Alamein City and Marsa Matrouh on the Mediterranean coast. It forms a vital component of a broader network including the Blue Line, spanning 1,110 kilometers from Greater Cairo to Abu Simbel, and the Red Line, which covers about 215 kilometers along the Red Sea coast. Orascom Construction Successfully Completes Construction of Sharm El-Sheikh Seawater Desalination Reverse Osmosis Plant Orascom Construction, in a joint venture partnership, has completed the engineering, procurement, and construction of the Sharm El-Sheikh Seawater Desalination Reverse Osmosis (RO) Plant and is currently finalizing pre-commissioning works. This facility utilizes advanced RO technology to purify seawater, ensuring a sustainable and dependable source of fresh water for the region. Initially designed to produce 30,000 cubic meters of water daily, expandable to 60,000 cubic meters, the plant reflects Orascom Construction's commitment to sustainable growth and efficient resource management. Orascom Construction is engaged in various projects within the water/wastewater sector, including desalination, wastewater treatment, irrigation, and water infrastructure.
