The 'Intellectual Property Rights and Innovation in Africa' (AfrIPI) is an EU-funded project directed by the European Commission and executed by the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO). It specifically aims to create, protect, utilise, administer and enforce Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) across Africa, in line with international and European best practices and in support of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) and the African Union´s Agenda 2063. Africa IP SME Helpdesk is a service implemented by the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) with the support of AfrIPI project and with the objective of supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) from the European Union (EU) to both protect and enforce their Intellectual Property (IP) rights in/or relating to Africa. It provides free and confidential advice on intellectual property and related issues, as well as training, materials and online resources.
