💻Our Workation in Mallorca is expected to start on September 28th to October 5th, and we wanted to share some interesting facts on this diverse and stunning island. 🏝 Is the largest of the Balearic Islands, a group of islands in the Mediterranean Sea that also includes Ibiza, Menorca, and Formentera. With an area of around 3,640 square kilometers (1,405 square miles), it is about the size of Rhode Island in the United States. 🫒The island has a long tradition of olive oil production, with olive trees being cultivated here for thousands of years. Mallorca is known for its high-quality olive oil, and "oleotourism" (olive oil tourism) is becoming increasingly popular, offering tours and tastings at local olive groves. ⛪️Palma, the capital city of Mallorca, boasts a rich history and vibrant culture. It is home to the stunning Gothic cathedral, La Seu, which was built on the site of a former mosque and is one of the tallest Gothic cathedrals in Europe. The cathedral was partially restored by the famous architect Antoni Gaudí in the early 20th century. 🥾Despite its relatively small size, Mallorca boasts a diverse range of landscapes, from the rugged Serra de Tramuntana mountains (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) to lush forests, fertile plains, and beautiful beaches with turquoise waters. 🐸Sanctuary for Endangered Species: The island is home to the Mallorca midwife toad, one of the rarest amphibians in the world. This toad is found only on Mallorca, living in the island's remote mountain streams. Conservation efforts have been successful in increasing its population in recent years. 🎾Birthplace of Tennis Star Rafael Nadal. He was born in Manacor, a town on the island, and still resides in Mallorca when not on the international tennis circuit. Nadal also opened the Rafa Nadal Academy in his hometown, which offers training for aspiring tennis players. Have you ever visited Mallorca? If not, we hope this post will give you some inspiration to explore one of the sunniest destination in the Mediterranean💙 #workation #remoteworking #mallorca #funfacts #spain
