This is a really important piece. Cancer incidence varies massively depending on geographical location-what are "rare" cancers in one area are a huge clinical problem in others. Fascinating combinations of population genetics, dietary risk factors and environmental drivers. This is quite the challenge for a small company trying to be focussed but at the same time not neglecting international opportunities!

Ross, our CEO spent last week in Singapore meeting regulators and investors. There are significant regional differences in common cancers, with some cancers such as clear cell ovarian cancer and gastric adenocarcinoma much more common in China/Japan/Korea than in Europe. ARJUNA's lead drug, Ag5 targets several cancer types with high incidence in CN/JP/KR so we regard our connections with this region as extremely valuable. #ovariancancer #cancerresearch https://lnkd.in/dnNP3v96

Ross, our CEO, was really pleased to accept an Award from the MATWIN Committee at their meeting in Bordeaux last week. Over 20 Pharma BD and R+D senior executives judged the entries, after three months of continuous assessment and feedback. For a company at our stage, this has been an incredibly valuable process, giving us a wealth of advice and feedback as well as a huge amount of validation for our approach to treating untreatable cancers. A very busy, but immensely rewarding week in Tokyo. Enjoying the enthusiasm of researchers and the many companies I met at the Shonen iPark Members day. Japan leads the world in development of cancer radiotherapy, so we're excited to discuss collaboration with one of the leading national centres as well as visiting our existing collaborators at NCC East (which is an amazing cancer research resource). I'm confident that this will be worth the jet-lag (as evidenced by the photograph of me looking like a corpse less than 24 hours off the plane from London...), and Japan will be a big part of ARJUNA's future.

Our CEO, Ross, has been in Tokyo, presenting at the Shonen iPark, University of Chiba Radiotherapy Institute and visiting our collaborator Prof Aki Ohashi's lab at the National Cancer Centre East. We are very hopeful that Japanese cancer patients will benefit from our therapies, and Japanese radiotherapy development expertise will allow us to advance cancer radiotherapy worldwide!
