It’s a wrap! We had a great time hosting the Aurubis Tomorrow Metals Reception during LME Week in London this week! It was a pleasure connecting with esteemed business partners, industry leaders, and distinguished guests. 🌱 Martin Sjoberg, our Senior Vice President Commercial, kicked off the event by reaffirming Aurubis’ commitment to sustainability. He emphasized our promise of "Tomorrow Metals", showcasing metals sourced and produced under state-of-the-art sustainability standards. He also shared our progress in updating the Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs) for eight product groups – a testament to our commitment to transparency and environmental responsibility. 💫 Our CEO, Toralf Haag, followed with an inspiring keynote, reflecting on his journey in the industry and sharing exciting updates on Aurubis' strategic projects. This week, Aurubis participated in the E-Scrap Conference in Orlando, Florida, where industry leaders gathered to discuss innovations in electronics recycling and the circular economy. ♻️ Our team was excited to exchange ideas on sustainable solutions for e-waste management and to showcase how Aurubis continues to drive forward recycling technologies. 💻 As one of the world’s leading multi-metal companies, we are committed to turning waste into valuable resources. Yesterday, Aurubis proudly participated in the Women4Metals Teatime at LME Week, an inspiring event focused on fostering diversity and inclusion within the metals industry. Our COO Multimetal Recycling, Inge Hofkens, kicked off the program, sharing Aurubis’ commitment to diversity and inclusion. Today marks a significant milestone for Aurubis with the official ribbon-cutting ceremony for its state-of-the-art recycling facility in Augusta, Georgia. 🇺🇸🍑   🏗️ Following over two years of construction, Aurubis Richmond is the first-ever secondary smelter of its kind for multimetal recycling in the United States.   🎀 Today’s event brought together Aurubis leaders, Georgia Governor Brian Kemp and Mayor of the City of Augusta, Garnett Johnson, and numerous other local officials and community members to celebrate the facility that promises to be a game-changer in sustainable metal recycling. 📈 After breaking ground in June 2022, Aurubis made the strategic decision at the end of 2022 to fast-track the expansion of the plant and invest a total of around $ 800 million. ♻️ With the expansion stage, the facility will be able process up to 180,000 tons of complex recycling materials annually, including circuit boards, copper cables, and other metal-containing products. 🗨️ “Aurubis Richmond is going to become a major player in the North American multimetal supply chain and a significant employer in greater Augusta,” states David Schultheis, President and Managing Director of Aurubis Richmond. “I am very proud of what the team has achieved, building this state-of-the-art recycling plant in just over two years.” Congratulations to this truly remarkable team effort and welcome to the Aurubis family, Aurubis Richmond! 🎊 #Aurubis #MetalsforProgress #TomorrowMetals #AurubisRichmond #Georgia #TeamGeorgia #GrowingGA #Sustainability #Recycling #CircularEconomy
