Welcome to the world, CAT16x! We are extremely proud to present BCN eMotorsport’s single-seater for the 2024 season. This car is the result of countless hours of work and dedication from the team members of the Industrial and Telecommunication Schools of UPC. Special thanks to both ETSEIB and ETSETB for providing us with the platform and opportunity to develop this project. We also want to express our most sincere gratitude to each and every sponsor for their collaboration and support. Without them, the CAT16x would not have been possible. Last but not least, a heartfelt thanks to all the professors, alumni, and family members for standing by our side through the highs and lows. 2024 has been a fantastic year for the team, full of incredible moments and experiences that we will never forget. We appreciate and are very thankful to everyone who supported the team and are extremely proud of having the opportunity to share these moments together. Now all eyes are on the 2025 season, in which we expect to bring our car and knowledge to a whole new level. 🏎️⚡

This weekend, we attended the open doors event of Campus FPCAT-UPC de la Mobilitat Sostenible, where we had the opportunity to show future new students how the team operates and how the car is developed. During this event, we were testing the CAT16x in autonomous mode, which allowed us to collect data on the car's performance while also acting as a showroom for all the event attendees. We are very grateful to Campus FPCAT-UPC de la Mobilitat Sostenible for inviting us to the event, and we hope they enjoyed watching the CAT16x in action on the track.

Consorci de Serveis Universitaris de Catalunya (CSUC) primary mission revolves around facilitating the sharing and pooling of academic, scientific, library, knowledge transfer, and management services among consortium members. The aim is to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the university and research system by leveraging synergies and economies of scale. As part of their collaboration with us, they generously provide access to their advanced supercomputing platform. This invaluable resource enables us to efficiently run numerous CFD simulations, playing a key role in the optimization and development of the aerodynamic package for our prototypes, enhancing the precision and effectiveness of our design processes. Welcome to the 2024-2025 season of BCN eMotorsport! 💙⚡️

As the summer competitions come to an end, it’s time to reflect on the 23/24 Season. A season filled with new challenges, bold ambitions and sweet victories. At the heart of this journey was the CAT16x, the team’s third fusion car. Behind it, a group of 37 undergraduate students that embodied the values of BCN eMotorsport and selflessly worked countless hours in a true team spirit. From flawless quizzes to admirable competitions, it’s been a season to remember. For the first time in the team’s history, BCN eMotorsport took a home victory at Formula Student Spain in the Driverless category, marking the team’s second overall win since 2016. Other unprecedented accomplishments include 1st places in Engineering Design, AutoX DV and Trackdrive, as well as a remarkable top 10 finish at Formula Student Germany’s Driverless Cup. Once again, solidifying our status as the best Spanish Formula Student Electric & Driverless team. Evidently, we wouldn’t have made it this far without your support. They provide us with the necessary materials for the vehicle's manufacturing, such as fiber, adhesives, resins, and 3D printing material. Here we go! One of the highlights of the season was at Formula Student Spain's Trackdrive, a Driverless event where cars complete 10 laps in autonomous mode on a set circuit. For the first time, our CAT16x made the most of all the driverless tech improvements from past seasons, helping us achieve 1st place in the event. Sit back and enjoy watching how an electric and autonomous racecar nailed a 1st place finish for the team.

Furgocat is a company specializing in van rentals, offering a wide selection of vehicles for both private and corporate use. These vans are well-equipped and carefully checked to make sure they're always in great working condition. They provide us with the essential vans needed to transport the CAT16x and all necessary equipment to competitions across Europe. We are extremely grateful for all the support we have received.
