Offshore and Floating Substations: Insights from Berlin 🔌 Fernando Javier Sada Rodriguez, Grid Connection & Electrical Works Senior Director, and Irene Leal Romero, Grid Assessment Analyst at BlueFloat Energy, represented us today at the Offshore and Floating Substations 2024 conference hosted by Leadvent Group in Berlin. This event brought together industry leaders and experts to explore the evolution of offshore substations and the path forward for green energy infrastructure. Fernando's presentation “Offshore Substations: Design & Standard” highlighted some of the most pressing challenges the industry faces today: 💡 The increasing scale of offshore substations, driven by large-scale wind farms nearing gigawatt capacity.  💡 Logistical limitations, as only a few global ports can handle the size of these large structures.  💡 A constrained supply chain for electrical equipment, which is extending lead times.  💡 The urgent need for standardized substation designs to streamline delivery and project execution. As Fernando explained, "the key to overcoming these challenges lies in finding the most reliable, flexible, and standardized solutions that align with the demanding timelines of offshore wind projects. Industry collaboration will be essential to achieving this." At BlueFloat Energy, we remain committed to addressing these challenges and ensuring the successful delivery of future-ready offshore wind projects. ⚡     #OffshoreWind #FloatingWind #Substations #GreenEnergy #ElectricalWorks #GridConnection #RenewableEnergy

🌏 Thank you for joining BlueFloat Energy in 2024 Energy Taiwan! 👥 Despite the delayed start due to Typhoon Krathon, Energy Taiwan & Net-Zero Taiwan 2024 was a resounding success, with the offshore wind industry showing remarkable resilience. This year, we reconnected with key stakeholders and held meaningful discussions to continue pushing forward Taiwan’s offshore wind ambitions. 🔑 During the event, we expanded our collaborations with the Ship and Ocean Industries R&D Center (SOIC) and the Classification Society (CR) through the signing of two Agreements with them. These agreements mark an important step in further strengthening Taiwan’s floating offshore wind industry by customizing floating wind systems and fostering a robust domestic #supplychain. 📈 We also engaged in meaningful conversations about Taiwan's energy transition, economic benefits, and international competitiveness. Each large offshore wind project in the country represents a significant investment of multiple billion NT$, with the industry poised to make a major impact on Taiwan's energy autonomy. With limited areas left for bottom-fixed projects after the upcoming 3.3 round, the focus will now shift to floating wind – a sector in which BlueFloat Energy is fully prepared to lead.    🤝 We were honored to meet with Director Chuang-Hsien Chen from the Energy Administration (MOEA), as well as the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in Taiwan´ delegation, led by Alicia Varela, Director General for International Trade and Investment. We had the opportunity to reiterate our commitment to help Taiwan unlocking its #floatingwind potential with the development of our Winds of September project, and discuss the potential for future collaborations, including a proposed Taiwan-Spain Energy Dialogue next year.    🌏 Additionally, we welcomed Assistant Secretary Mylene Capongcol and Ms. jhajha Sernal from the Philippines Department of Energy to our booth whose presence further strengthened regional and global collaboration in advancing offshore wind.    🍃 As a testament to our ongoing commitment to sustainability, we repurposed discarded glass from Hsinchu’s Spring Pool Glass into our booth design —showcasing our dedication to the circular economy and the local community. ⚡Taiwan is approaching a critical turning point: 2024 must be the year to launch the floating wind demonstration program. Drawing inspiration from recent developments in France and the UK, Taiwan is ready to follow suit with its own projects. The time is now to establish this large and complex industry, reduce costs, and prepare the supply chain for commercial deployment. At BlueFloat Energy, we are ready for this next step and are calling for the DEMO tender to take place before the end of the year. #EnergyTaiwan #NetZeroTaiwan #TaiwanInternationalSmartEnergyWeek #TaiwanInternationalNetZeroSustainabilityExpo #FloatingOffshoreWind
