🚀 Check out this 6 degrees of freedom CFD simulation we performed some time ago while working with Botin Partners Naval Architecture in the design of the Raven111 for Baltic Yachts Oy Ab Ltd. This kind of high fidelity simulation removes the guesswork usually involved in quantifying dynamic behavior during the design process by capturing the effect of waves 🌊 on boat performance and the resulting dynamic loads. 📊 Top right plots show hull slamming loads as well as foil arm moment at the bearing. In this simulation, the boat is fully free and sailing for real with a given wind profile set in the domain. 🌬️⛵ Sails have been deformed with FSI and 3 autopilots actuating on foil flap, rudder blade, and main traveller are driving the boat.
