Did you know when the first CMZ CNC lathes were manufactured?   This year is our 80th birthday 🎂💙 80 years in which we have adapted to a fast-changing sector like the machine tool industry by understanding our customer's needs.   But, what are the roots of CMZ? 🤔   👇🏼 This is the story of a manufacturer 👇🏼   🔵 1945: where it all began.   A young and entrepreneur Florencio Zumarraga decided to found CMZ in ground floor premises in Zaldibar (Vizcaya). Initially, we manufactured thicknesser machines for carpentry work 😯 and years later we started with the production of filling machines.   🔵 1963: our headquarters were built   In the 60s, we acquired the plot where we culminated in the construction of offices and the first assembly plant on that site.   🔵 1976: first CNC lathes   In the 70s, we left behind the manufacture of filling machines to give away to the production of conventional parallel lathes. Years later, we made the first CMZ CNC lathes: the Halcon 260 with Olivetti control, followed by high precision lathes Izaro 60 and Izaro 80.   80 years #turningtheworld 🚀💙 non-stop!   What were our next steps? Is there anything better for the production process than a stable temperature? 🌡️ ✅️ Maintaining a stable temperature is essential for achieving maximum precision in machining. This is because materials like steel expand at approximately eleven microns per degree Celsius to a metre. 🌬️ At CMZ we have air-conditioning systems specifically designed to maintain a stable temperature in our manufacturing facilities. We have two different types of systems: 🔵 The first is used in a more general environment, where temperature in the factory is controlled to ±1ºC for 24-hour periods. 🔵 The second is used in areas where measurement in microns is required.
