🧪 El #CTTC s'uneix a la #SC24CAT amb dues activitats 🔝: dues jornades de portes obertes al Centre i un taller sobre posicionament. Al matí ens han visitat l'Escola Pàlcam i l'Institut Escola Gavà Mar. Els alumnes de cicles formatius i de 4t d'ESO han descobert de prop les nostres investigacions en sistemes de xarxa i posicionament 💡🔍. Han participat en tallers i xerrades impartides pels nostres investigadors i investigadores. Ha estat un plaer compartir la nostra passió per la #ciència i la #tecnologia amb la nova generació! 🤩 Aquests espais de descobriment són clau per fomentar vocacions científiques i apropar els joves al món de la #investigació 🚀. 🧭 A la tarda ha estat el torn de l’Aula Sènior de la Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) de #Castelldefels, amb el taller 'On soc?' sobre posicionament. Han descobert com ens podem posicionar fins i tot en espais on no arriba el senyal del satèl·lit i han après tècniques bàsiques de navegació 🌐. 👥 En total, prop de 150 persones han visitat avui el CTTC en una jornada plena d’aprenentatge i inspiració. Gràcies a Fundació Catalana per a la Recerca i la Innovació per fer possible aquesta iniciativa! És un orgull formar part de la Setmana de la Ciència i compartir el nostre coneixement 🔝. 🔍 Today, the #CTTC hosted two talks that explored the impact of emerging technologies on quantum and optical networks, offering an innovative view of the future of #connectivity. 👨🔬 In the first seminar, entitled 'Quantum Networks: from Quantum Key Distribution to Entanglement Distribution', Dr. Rui Wang from the University of Bristol shared advances in the creation of quantum networks that integrate quantum and classical communications, particularly through the entanglement distribution. He also detailed the role of #AI in managing and optimizing complex networks, highlighting the development of a quantum key distribution (QKD) network in the city of #Bristol. 🌐 The second seminar, 'Machine learning driven future optical networks', was given by Dr. Shuangyi Yan, also from the University of Bristol, who presented how machine learning is revolutionizing the optical networks of the future. Dr. Yan addressed the new solutions for the prediction of Transmission Quality (QoT), the analysis of link behavior and the design of a dynamic routing system based on deep reinforcement learning for multi-band and multi-dimensional optical networks. 👏 Thanks to Dr. Wang and Dr. Yan for these inspiring presentations and for bringing the cutting edge of network research to the CTTC!

🔝The #CTTC hosted this week the "Multidimensional Constellation Shaping for Nonlinear Fiber Optics" seminar by Alex Alvarado, prof. at Eindhoven University of Technology. 😮 We learned how multidimensional modulation formats can improve optical transmissions, among other things. We also discovered how these formats can increase transmission rates and tolerance to non-linearity in fiber optic links, and about the application of information-theoretic quantities in the design of these formats. It was very interesting for anyone interested in the future of fiber optic communications and signal processing! 🚀🤩

🔝 The #CTTC hosted this week the seminar "Beyond Predefined Activations: The Power of Signal Processing in Neural Network Design" by PhD candidate Marc Martinez-Gost.
