The Australian Federal Government has announced the third tender round of its Capacity Investment Scheme (CIS), aiming to secure 4 GW of four-hour dispatchable capacity (16 GWh) in the National Energy Market (NEM). Registration opens on November 13, with project bids due by December 16. Successful bids will be chosen in a two-stage process, with Stage B financial bids taking place in early 2025, and winners announced in September 2025. 📅 The CIS, aiming for 32 GW of dispatchable and renewable capacity by 2030, continues its efforts with this latest round. Italy approves 5.1 GW of utility-scale solar projects! 🇮🇹 🌞 In the first nine months of 2024, Italy's regional governments approved 5.1 GW of utility-scale solar projects. Sicily led the way, authorizing around 1.31 GW, followed by Puglia with 923.1 MW and Lazio with 412.2 MW. A total of 126 single authorizations (AU) and 604 simplified procedures (PAS) were granted, reflecting significant progress in Italy’s solar energy sector.
