What an incredible experience wrapping up the Google for Startups #AIForHealth program in Madrid last week! 🎉 The 3-day event was a true highlight, packed with dynamic workshops, thought-provoking discussions around "Health in the #AI Era," and unforgettable moments. We're proud to have been part of this amazing initiative! You guys truly made it all happen! Today, October 1st, we celebrate the 3rd anniversary of Ephion Health! These three years have been filled with emotions, hard work, meeting incredible people, and overcoming challenges. While we know that three years is just the beginning, this journey has brought us to where we are today. Our product is now being used in leading hospitals for research with chronic patients, we have an amazing team, and scientific collaborations with Key Opinion Leaders. Our co-founder and CTO, Mireia Claramunt Molet, participated in a business mission organized by Foment del Treball Nacional and the Consulado General de los Estados Unidos en Barcelona through the #JumpStartup for #Women in #Deeptech program. The mission aimed to strengthen connections between Barcelona and Boston's health tech sectors, with key meetings at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Harvard University, and accelerators like MassChallenge and InnoVenture Labs . It was incredibly inspiring to kick off the #DayOneBasel program, where Ephion Health was selected as one of the 15 companies for the 2024 #cohort6. #Basel is a strategic region, home to many of the world’s leading pharmaceutical companies with headquarters or key decision-making centers. We explored what matters most in closing efficient deals between pharma companies and digital health startups, focusing on solutions that accelerate time-to-market and optimize the clinical trial process. The networking experience with mentors and other startups was fantastic. It was a great opportunity to connect with like-minded innovators, exchange valuable insights, and explore potential collaborations. We’re excited to continue the journey that began with this kick-off. Over the coming months, we’ll be working closely with pharma industry experts to refine these key points. The process ahead promises to be both challenging and rewarding, and we look forward to the progress and growth it will bring. ❤️ Today, September 7th, we join the global community in raising awareness for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) as part of the #WDAD2024 campaign❤️ At Ephion Health, we are committed to supporting individuals affected by DMD and their families. This rare genetic disorder affects 1 in 5,000 boys, leading to progressive muscle degeneration and the loss of motor skills. On this Duchenne Awareness Day, let’s come together to promote improved care and continued research into treatments for this devastating condition. If you see a building in your city illuminated in red today, no matter where you are in the world, it’s a symbol of raising awareness for the Duchenne community. A very interesting insight by Basia Coulter, Ph.D. from Globant on optimizing costs in #ClinicalTrials. Clinical research is a costly and complex process, and this article highlights four key areas where operational efficiency can significantly reduce expenses: - Protocol Design - Patient Identification and Recruitment - Patient Retention and Engagement - Data Management At Ephion Health, we are tackling these challenges with our platform for developing digital biomarkers. By integrating data from wearables, PROMs, CROMs, and daily physical activity with AI, we provide a precise and sensitive assessment of the patient's functional capacity and its evolution. This approach helps optimize both sample size and trial duration while improving patient stratification to ensure a more homogeneous sample.
