They work by harnessing solar radiation to generate electricity in a sustainable way in a process that can be summarized in several steps: 🌞 Collection of solar radiation: Solar panels (also called photovoltaic modules) are composed of photovoltaic cells that convert sunlight into electricity through the photoelectric effect. 💰 Current inversion: The direct current (DC) generated by the panels is converted into alternating current (AC) by inverters, making it compatible with the conventional electrical grid. 🔋 Distribution and storage: The electricity produced is distributed through transmission and distribution networks or stored in batteries for later use, thus optimizing supply. 📈 Monitoring and maintenance: Monitoring systems are used to control the performance of the panels and ensure their efficiency over time. Our colleague Patricia Sanz is a passionate advocate for science and #STEM education. ❓ For her, inspiration does not come from specific role models but from a supportive environment that allows you to develop in any field. What she enjoys most about #Science is answering "why" and "how" questions. From why ibuprofen relieves pain to how a lamp works. Understanding these processes allows for improvement and the creation of new things. 🗣️ She offers a piece of advice: do not give up in any area that you are passionate about. Do you like #Biology and #Photography? Take pictures of animals. Chemistry and baking? Optimize your recipes. Football and psychology? Study sports psychology. Patricia points out that STEM careers are often perceived as uncreative or difficult, and that a love for science is not nurtured from a young age. ❗❗ We announce that Terang, our FRV´s first BESS large scale project in Australia, has reached financial close and will begin construction. 🔋 The Terang BESS is a 100MW/200MWh large-scale battery project located in the state of Victoria, Australia. This marks a significant milestone in FRV Australia’s commitment to advancing various renewable energy infrastructure technologies. 📝 The project will also receive AUD$ 7m in funding to support the installation of new grid forming inverters, awarded under round two of the Victoria Government’s Energy Innovation Fund (EIF). 📣 Carlo Frigerio: "Getting our first large-scale battery to financial close is a major achievement for FRV Australia.
