Happy to represent the FUSILLI Project at Humboldt University in Berlin during the FoodCLIC Consortium International Workshop along with Danielle Wilde, Jonathan Luger and Einar Braathen. We shared our experiences driving change in the food system with participants from the EU and beyond. I really enjoyed discussing the path to scaling up innovative actions through legal frameworks (adequate food is a right!), citizens' engagement, and participatory governance in local administrations. Suomen YK-liiton mukaan yli 800 miljoonaa ihmistä elää nälkäisenä samalla kun kolmannes tuotetusta ruuasta katoaa hävikkiin. 1,4 miljardia ihmistä kamppailee ylipainon kanssa. Globaali ruoantuotanto vaikuttaa merkittävästi ilmastoon ja ekosysteemien kantokykyyn. Kaupungeilla on iso rooli kestävän ruokajärjestelmän edistämisessä. Kansainvälisessä FUSILLI-hankkeessa Tampereen kaupunki - City of Tampere, Tampere University of Applied Sciences, AhlmanEdu ja Ekokumppanit Oy - Ecofellows Ltd. ovat lähes neljän vuoden ajan luotsanneet Tamperetta kohti terveitä, kestäviä ja turvallisia ruokajärjestelmiä sekä tukeneet näitä edistävää kaupunkipolitiikkaa ja koulutusta. Tampere allekirjoitti vastikään kansainvälisen sitoumuksen, jossa kaupunki sitoutuu kehittämään sosiaalisesti, ekologisesti ja taloudellisesti kestävää ruokajärjestelmää. Milan Urban Food Policy Pact on Milanon kaupungin vuonna 2015 aloittama sitoumus, jonka on allekirjoittanut yli 270 kaupunkia ympäri maailmaa, Suomesta Tampereen lisäksi myös Vantaa. Monia edistysaskeleita on jo otettu: koulu- ja päiväkotiruokailu, ruokakasvatus, lasten puistoruokailu, yhteisöviljelmät, Kauppahalli ja elävät torit. Kaupunki kannustaa sidosryhmiäkin löytämään oman roolinsa ja edistämään kestävää ruokajärjestelmää. FUSILLI-hanke päättyy vuoden lopussa, mutta työ kestävän ruokajärjestelmän eteen jatkuu entistä vahvemmin. #WorldFoodDay was celebrated in advance by FUSILLI Project here in Roma Capitale at the Urban Community Garden #Ort9 with "AperiOrto", a nightly opening to citizens to share good, healthy, local and fair #food. Once again, in the cultivated nature, with music, dancing, gathering and meetings, this "green piazza" has become THE meeting point for the entire IX Borough: 184,000 inhabitants. #foodsystemchange #localfood #urbangardens
