We aim to celebrate the authenticity and richness of our culinary culture, helping people to enjoy their favourite local recipes every day and everywhere. What would we be without our home-made minestrone, our unique gazpacho, our authentic joloff rice, our famous paella, or our signature couscous? Globalization doesn’t mean homogeneity. We claim local roots, local textures, local smells, local taste, local flavours. Local flavours represent much more than food, they represent each one of the communities we have always belonged to, each one of our homes. That’s why we have always been so close to local families, it’s the only way to ensure that all of our local flavours last forever. #InternationalDayAgainstClimateChange is an opportunity to reflect on the devastating effects of global warming and the extreme consequences we are facing. As part of the food system, and a significant contributor to this phenomenon, we want to be part of the solution. Our commitment is to become #NetZero. 🤝 We are dedicated to reducing our emissions to zero by 2050, and by 35% by 2030. This is not just a commitment; it’s a journey we have already started: ⚡ #EnergyEfficiency: In recent years, we have reduced energy consumption in our factories by 35. 🔋 #RenewableEnergy: 100% of our electricity in Europe now comes from renewable sources. We are shifting to renewable energy to reduce the impact of our operations in both Europe and Africa. 🌱 Biomass Steam Generator: The biomass boiler in our Alcañiz factory will make that site Net Zero, reducing around 2,000 tons of CO2 per year. 🌞 #SolarPanels: The consistent deployment of solar panels in our factories will generate 12% of our electricity globally. They are already installed in our Miajadas, Alcañiz, Puurs, Rubí (Europe), and Tema (Africa) factories. ♻️ #SustainablePackaging: 97% of our packaging in Europe and 82% in Africa is recyclable, with over 50% made from recycled materials. However, not everything is directly in our control, which is why we are working closely with all our suppliers to accelerate emissions reductions. Celebrating Our Participation in the 6th #MBADay in Barcelona!🎉 As we have done for the past several years, #GBfoods, in collaboration with Affinity and Agrolimen, is proud to have participated in the 6th edition of MBA Day in #Barcelona.🤝 This initiative aims to showcase Barcelona's industrial, business, entrepreneurial, scientific, research, and cultural landscape to over 650 first-year MBA students from leading business schools, including IESE Business School, Esade, EADA Business School, UPF Barcelona School of Management, IQS Barcelona, ESIC University, and EAE Business School.📚 During this session, approximately 35 students had the opportunity to learn more about our companies, business strategies, and future directions from Marc Pou Oliu (#Agrolimen), Cristina Codina Forcada (#Affinity), and Sergi Martinez Peiro & Mireia Mulet (GBfoods España).
