🌱HarvRESt represented at ECOMONDO - ITALIAN EXHIBITION GROUP🌱 Yesterday, HarvRESt partners EnGreen, Tecnoalimenti S.C.p.A. and Confagricoltura hosted a session where attendees had the opportunity to learn about the HarvRESt project. This session offered insights into the project’s innovative approach to harnessing renewable energy for sustainable agricultural practices, sparking interest and discussions among participants dedicated to a greener future. This was a great event that brought together professionals from the energy and agriculture sectors to explore pioneering solutions for sustainable farming.

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡𝐬, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞? We asked Project Coordinator, Roberto Lázaro Gastón and Project Manager, Diego Redondo Taberner PhD from CIRCE Research Center to give a brief status on what has happened in the project so far and what is to come in the near future. Here is their answer: "Over the past months, the HarvRESt partners have successfully identified effective practices and initiatives aimed at reducing carbon emissions in agriculture, examined the needs of local stakeholders and the regulatory frameworks supporting RES integration in four countries (Italy, Spain, Denmark, and Norway). Further, the partners have defined the baseline and goals of the project’s 5 use cases. Finally, concept, methodology, and key actions for developing HarvRESt stakeholder engagement strategies have been outlined. These steps are vital to achieving our project goals." The HarvRESt partners are continuously spreading the word about the project and the expected results to different types of stakeholders. As an example our partner, Viñas del Vero, has presented the innovations that are carried out in their winery to reduce our carbon footprint at the ‘10+10 Business Examples #ForTheClimate’ award. 𝐀𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭10+10 𝐁𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐄𝐱𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐬 #𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐂𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞 The initiative “The 10+10 Business Examples #ForTheClimate” recognizes the climate commitment and ambition of 10 large companies and 10 SMEs. The initiative seeks to highlight the concrete actions that companies are taking to address the urgency of the climate crisis and promote sustainable decarbonization measures. 🌿 Impressions from the Torre Santamaria farm visit 👩🌾 In September, a delegation of HarvRESt partners visited the Torre Santamaria farm in Catalonia. The visit is highly relevant as project partners ACSA, Sorigué and BETA Technological Center (UVIC) are going to test and valorize the digestate generated in the biogas plant. Looking forward to learning about the results.....

⚡The correct answer to yesterday’s poll on which renewable energy source generated the most electricity in the EU in 2022 is: 𝐖𝐈𝐍𝐃 💨 According to Eurostat, wind and hydropower accounted for over two-thirds of the total electricity generated from renewable sources (37.5% and 29.9%, respectively). The remaining one-third of electricity came from solar (18.2%), solid biofuels (6.9%) and other renewable sources (7.5%).
