These days, Eduardo Briales Palacios, PhD., Product Manager, Process Engineering at H2SITE, will be attending the SMM Maritime Tradeshow in Hamburg, held from September 4th to 6th. H2SITE offers carrier-to-hydrogen solutions to promote the use of liquid hydrogen carriers in onboard applications for propulsion and power auxiliary units. This high-purity hydrogen stream can be used for fuel-cell or ICE applications to offer maximum flexibility to the stakeholders that are interested in ammonia or methanol as hydrogen carrier. H2SITE’s core technology is based on Pd-alloy membranes integrated in membrane reactors that allow the increase in reconversion efficiency, reduce the overall equipment footprint and minimized all kind of CO2eq emissions. Moreover, H2SITE's technology based on membrane reactors are to be implemented in ammonia import hubs that will enable the transportation of hydrogen energy carriers that will be cracked into high-pure hydrogen before its local transportation in gas pipelines. If you are interested in knowing more on ammonia-to-hydrogen systems for onboard applications, do not hesitate to contact @Eduardo (https://lnkd.in/dAn5VVJC) in Rotterdam or online with our commercial team (H2SITE.eu). 📣Exciting news! The H2SITE ammonia cracking unit has operated continuously for hundreds of hours, consistently producing high-purity hydrogen—and it’s still going strong. Managed by CNH2 - Spanish National Hydrogen Center at the Grupo Fertiberia site in Puertollano (Spain), this achievement helps to demonstrate the potential of ammonia as energy carrier within the ARENHA Project. International trade in green hydrogen is key to transitioning to a global carbon-neutral economy, as its demand exceeds national production capacity in many countries worldwide. As reflected in the report "International trade and green hydrogen: Supporting the global transition to a low-carbon economy" by the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) with the World Trade Organization, it is necessary to develop and promote different strategic actions that address the main challenges in green hydrogen production and trade. Press play ▶️ to find out more! Did you know that, due to the physical characteristics of hydrogen that make it difficult to transport, trade will focus on derivatives such as ammonia or methanol? 👉🏽 These carriers, which with H2SITE's membrane reactor technology can separate from hydrogen, offer promising options for long-distance transport given their well established manufacturing process, supply chain and regulatory framework, while offering higher energy densities and simpler storage requirements compared to liquid hydrogen.
