❗ We’re growing our electricity networks in the UK! We welcome Electricity North West (ENW) to the Iberdrola Group. 🆕 Today, the UK Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) cleared the acquisition of an 88% shareholding in the electricity distribution network operator ENW by Iberdrola through its subsidiary ScottishPower. This is part of Iberdrola’s strategy to strengthen its networks business in countries with strong ratings, such as the UK. We now become the second largest distribution network operator in the country, delivering electricity to around 12 million people across a network spanning more than 170,000 kilometers. “As we welcome our ENW colleagues, we further our ambitions to deliver a resilient, flexible electricity network for Britain”, Ignacio Galan, Iberdrola and ScottishPower Executive Chairman. ⚡ Let’s drive electrification – together for a better future!

⁉️ The Executive Chairman of Iberdrola presents investment plans in the US for more than 20 billion dollars in network infrastructures to 2030. 🔹 Ignacio Galán has held meetings with the top US energy policy makers: Energy Secretary, Chris Wright, and Doug Burgum, chairman of the National Energy Board and US Secretary of the Interior. During these meetings, Galán expressed his commitment to the country, where significant growth in electricity demand is expected.   🎤 "The United States is one of Iberdrola's main investment destinations. To the 50 billion dollars invested in the last 20 years, we are going to add more than 20 billion dollars between now and the end of the decade to modernise, expand and digitise network infrastructures, making it possible to meet the expected increase in demand in the country", said Ignacio Galán. 📅 The meetings were held in Houston on the occasion of CERAWeek, the largest energy conference in the US and one of the largest in the world. https://lnkd.in/dR_YzuzQ
